Silent Auction and
Casino Night…. just
saying it gets me excited
for the fun that’s in
store! Ask anyone who
has ever participated
and they will tell you it
is a fun filled night with
exciting games, excellent silent auction items, terrific food
and drinks, and an unbelievably good time close to home.
Our Casino for a Cause and Silent Auction is taking place
at Big Sky Event Hall in Royse City on August 7.
Your admission includes everything you will need to
be totally entertained
for the evening. Casino
Central is providing our
gaming tables and they are
professionals who will help
you learn how to play the
game if you are a rookie,
and they will give you a challenge if you are a seasoned
player. Your winnings will then go into a drawing to win
some fabulous prizes at the end of the evening! Our Silent
auction never ceases to please as we have many bidders
hovering over their particular item trying to be
sure no one else beats them out.

Shelter animal of the month is Velma. She is one of
our longest residents. We have one sponsorship left.
Maybe today could be her day to be adopted? Velma is
a young mother recently separated from her 3 puppies.
She is a bit unsure and shy but warms up to kind voice
& soft touch. This kindhearted Rotti mix is so ready to
meet her new family. For more info on how to adopt
Velma please call 214-934-9352 or 214-796-1445 or email

The Community Builder Award was designed by the Grand
Lodge Texas to enable our Lodge to recognize outstanding
non-Masons who have distinguished themselves through
their service to the community, to the local, state or national
government, to their house of worship, or to humanity. Thus,
the award is presented to individuals who, although they have
never been initiated into Masonry, have followed the same
precepts, ideals and standards that have been established for
Masonic behavior. We are honored that the Masonic Lodge
has chosen to bestow this award upon our Royse City
Community Development Corporation. Congratulations!
Our Board Retreat at Hilton Bella Harbor was a wonderful
day of brainstorming, getting to know one another better and
planning the year ahead for our Chamber and community.
Our theme was “Chamber Champions” and our motto helps
remind us of how we can strive for that: “With strength in
numbers, we work every day to carry out our mission of help-
ing existing businesses succeed, promoting the expansion of
commerce and providing community leadership”. This is our
Board minus Dr. Brad Baker who was called out before the
photo was taken. Erin Kincaid, Mark Russo, Vivian F. Brown,
Leslie Wilson, Cathleen Lewis, Julia Bryant, Glenn Caperton,
Jo Nell Mellody, Jim Mellody, Paula Morris, Julie Fowler,
Kari Hollifield, Nanette McCoy, Karen Parks, James Harvey,
and Jesse Vaughn.
City of Royse City unveils new “shop
local” logo! Paula Morris, Main
Street Manager and Chamber Board
Member, said the Live. Life. Local.
campaign is not a program designed
for just downtown Royse City.
“We want the entire community to be able to use this,
all of Royse City”. Business people throughout the
City can use the logo on window decals, banners,
letterhead and more by getting permission from
the City beforehand. For more information,
contact Paula at 972-524-4846.
We are happy to announce that the Chamber’s new website has gone Live! We ask that you go to the
directory and review your listing for accuracy.
If there are any changes that need to be made please
forward them to Vivian Brown at vivian.brown@rock-
wallhappenings.com. Also, if you have not provided
us with your logo please do so as soon as possible so
we can add it to your listing.
We are also offering several opportunities to enhance
your directory listing for a very low cost. You may take
advantage of these right away by contacting Julia at

Congratulations to PCA on the opening of their new facility in Royse City. Thank you again to
National Senior Care Home Health & Royse City Health & Rehabilitation for hosting a fantastic after hours /
Thirsty Thursday on June 18th.
The Community Builder Award was designed by the Grand Lodge Texas to enable our Lodge to recognize
outstanding non-Masons who have distinguished themselves through their service to the community,
to the local, state or national government, to their house of worship, or to humanity. Thus, the award is presented to individuals who, although they have
never been initiated into Masonry, have followed the same precepts, ideals and standards that have
been established for Masonic behavior.
The Community Builder Award is not necessarily designed to be given only to the obvious leaders of
the community, those in the limelight, although they certainly must be considered. Often times the award is bestowed upon a man or woman who, year in and year out, quietly and without fanfare , show their devotion
to their community and its people without the expectation of awards or honors.
