RCL Ontario Command

Ontario command has 400 branches throughout Ontario

A total membership of over 130,000

Poppy Fund

In 2010 grants to the Poppy Fund to Ex Service personnel and dependants amount to $986,575.48

Veteran Programs for 2010

Additional Funds spent on Veterans programs totalled over $275,000

Provincial Service Bureau

Ontario command provides to all Veterans and Ex Service personnel assistance with pension applications and benefit concerns on an ongoing basis

Ladies Auxiliary

LA Members raised over $870,595 for donations to charities and other deserving projects in 2010

Helping Communities

RCL Ontario Branches and Ladies Auxiliaries Charitable Foundation donated $571,028 to Ontario Communities in 2010

Bursary Programme

2009-2010 academic year saw a total of 911 applications awarded to needy students for post secondary education for a total of $428,000

Additional Bursaries from the Poppy Funds amounted to
$604,428.25

Other donations from Poppy funds in the amount of $4,225,735.20

Affordable Housing

RCL Ontario command are sponsors and facilitators for low rental housing for senior citizens

Hospital Donations

Donations of special equipment and furnishings to hospitals not covered by hospital budgets, from television sets to new vehicles totally over $766,000

Special Care

Branch and LA Members routinely visit Veterans in hospitals and continue to supply comforts and entertainment to enhance their quality of life

Sponsor Youth programs

Sponsorship to Cubs, Scouts, Guides, Cadets and other Youth programmes

Money spent for Youth programmes was over $1.1 million, this doesn't include money from the Poppy Funds

Local Charities

Donations to local charities amount to over $2.3 million, this does not include money from Poppy Funds.

Troop Moral Fund

Donations to the Troop Moral Fund( Tim Horton's coffee and donut certificates to our Troops in Afghanistan) in the amount of $350,000

Homeless Veterans Project

Operations: Leave the Streets Behind for 2010 saw contributions of $130,000 for the Homeless Veterans Project

Volunteer Hours

Ontario Command volunteers clocked in annually over 458,000 hours

Branches have over 7000 volunteer staff and employed over 1,200 full and part time staff

Free Space

Branches offered their facilities free of charge to community groups for over 26,000 occasions in 2010

Taxes

Over .5 million paid in property taxes in 2010
