Government funding agencies The objectives of the FDCT is to correspond with theaims of technology strategy in the Macau. provide funding for science related education, researchand project development. the FDCT had subsidized nearly 3,000,000 USD in thefirst half year of 2013. 7. Government funding agencies The Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, which isa government department. The DSEJ manages Macaus compulsoryeducation and youth issues. Provide financial aid to schools to equipimplements Subsidize fund for schools to participate theinternational competitions. 8. The Macau Science Center The Macau Science Center was establishedin 2009. The center is divided in to three parts: The exhibition center The planetarium The convention centerThe mission of the Macau Science Center is to: Promote science popularization and educationamong local adolescents. Establish a new landmark to complementtourism development in Macau. Provide a regional platform for scienceeducation, convention and exhibition. 9. One of the biggest roboticcompetition held in the MacauScience Center is the InterschoolRobotic Competition. It was held annually in April and 15schools were participated in thismagnificent competition. Also the government had conducteda series of friendly matches withnearby region such as the Main LandChina and Hong Kong. 10. Facilities & Competitions Macau began to participate in RoboCup Junior in 2003. In particular, Macau robot team has won the 1st place of RCJ soccerfor several years. Macau has now become one of the leaders of roboticsdevelopment in the world. 11. PCMS Robotic EducationDevelopment 12. Pui Ching Middle School (PCMS) Established in: 1889 Premises distribution : Guangzhou, Macau, Hong Kong School Motto: Utmost Goodness, Utmost Righteousness ~based on Christian Bible, Deuteronomy 12:28 PCMS is a non-profit privateChristian school in Macau, consisting of kindergarten, primary and secondarysections all in one campus. 13. Robotics EducationRoboCup Rescue 14. NAOVEXRobotics Education 15. Schools Machines &Facilities 16. Laser EngraverWe can use the laserengraver to engravesome card-shapematerials such as theacrylic sheet and woodboard. These products can useto make the frame of theRobots and some DIYtools such asmanipulators. 17. CNCThis five-axis CNC is for us to carve themetal and making some specific metalparts such as screws and screw nuts.In addition, we can use the CnC tomake some metal or plastic containersto store the metal parts. Also we got an automatic lathe to carvethe metal according to different sparesand functions. 18. 3D PrinterThis 3D printer was just bought at thebeginning of this academic year.It can make any accessories and partsaccording to any function we want tomake. 19. Milling machine Metal Cutter 20. ROV Team 21. Our AimDevelop every teammates potentialTo publicize the importanceof marine ecology 22. Helloworld! 23. ROV: Eagle RayFrameProtective barThrustersFloatsManipulators 24. Thrusters ManipulatorThere are six thrusters mountedon the ROV:Vertical Thrusters x2Horizontal Thrusters x4So that it can implement 360movements and panning. Also there are two manipulatorsadded on the ROV, one placed on theupper-right and the other place onthe lower-left to let the ROV masterany kinds of missions. 25. Temperature sensorCameraOn the other hand, we addedfour cameras on the ROV. Twocameras in the front, and othertwo observing the environmentaround the ROV.Since the mission of thecompetition requires us to checkthe temperature under the water,we add a temperature sensor todetect the temperature. 26. ROVs Core For the electrical part, thesystem is separated into twoparts, the main ROVs core andthe onboard control system. In order to let the signal cantransport quickly and stablybetween the two system, we usea optic-fiber to connect the twoof them. For the programming part, weuse Arduino as ourprogramming software. We also use PS2 gamepad asthe controller. 27. Competitions 28. HK, 4th of April HK MATE ROV Competition 29. ROV testing 30. Final repairingDuring the mission 31. Seattle WA, 20th ~ 22nd June, InternationalMATE ROV Competition 32. Weyerhaeuser King County AquaticCenter 33. Repairing 34. Get Ready forthe Competition 35. During the Mission 36. The Ending Ceremony 37. Future Developments 38. Science & MarineResearchesIn the future, we will continue to engage inscience and marine project such as: Water equality examination Mineral contained in the riverbed of PearlRiver near Macau Pollution index of the marine system nearMacau 39. Promote the Robotic Education andMarine ProtectionLastly, we will present to other students not onlythe technology of ROV, but also to promote theidea of protecting the marine resources. 40. THANK YOU
