Position (A) Patient: Place arm against side of trunk. Helper: Hold elbow to stabilize. Motion (B) - Lift hand toward shoulder, palm up. - Keep wrist straight. Repeat times. Repeat with other arm. Do sessions per day. Variation: Contract method: Resist seconds. (see card G.G.-14) Patient is passive.
ELBOW - 2 FLEXION: ROM (Side-Lying)
Position (A) Patient: Lie with side up. Helper: Stabilize arm against trunk. Support hand under wrist. May place one knee on bed.
Motion (B) - Bend elbow, bringing
hand toward shoulder.
Repeat times. Repeat with other arm.

times. Repeat with other arm. Do sessions per day. Variation: Bend wrist down and in direction of little finger during motion.
ELBOW - 8 Extension: Facilitated (Supine)Position Helper: Lift arm toward ceiling. Hold wrist with thumb facing patient. Motion - Helper straightens elbow
partially and cues patient to maintain position.(A)
