M ember SPOTLIGHT: EDWARD JONES – MAX HUTSELL, AAMS®, FINANCIAL ADVISORMax Hutsell of Edward Jones has a lot to celebrate these days. Five years ago he was new to the local business community, and new to the Chamber. Now he is a mainstay in the area, and recognized as a very valuable resource for those seeking financial planning guidance. He recently earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®), which is a professional designation awarded by the College for Financial Planning (CFP) to financial professionals who successfully complete a self-study program, pass an exam, and agree to comply with a code of ethics. It was important to Hutsell to become involved in the Chamber as soon as he took over the Edward Jones office in Ocean View. According to Hutsell, the Chamber has given his

business the most return on investment for his marketing dollars. He feels the Chamber “has been invaluable as a resource to expand professional connections, and recommend their various services” to his clients. Since joining the Chamber, Hutsell has been very active in attending networking events, volunteering at the Chamber’s community events, and was nominated to the Chamber’s Board of Directors this year. What do the next five years look like to Hutsell? He “plans to continue to serve the families and businesses in our growing community.” Next time you see Max Hutsell at a networking event, be sure to wish him a very happy anniversary and many more years of business success!

AROUND THE Quiet ResortsDELAWARE SEASHORE STATE PARK TURNS 50!

Delaware Seashore State Park makes plans to celebrate 50th Anniversary and needs your help! As everyone is still get-ting the hang of writing 2017 as the current year, Delaware Seashore State Park is already making big plans for the year ahead. 2017 marks 50 years

since Delaware Seashore be-came a state park and park staff are excited to celebrate this milestone with a series of celebra-tions, as well as the creation of a new Delaware Seashore State Park Family Scrapbook. “I’m very excited to celebrate 50 years of outdoor recre-ation at Delaware Seashore,” says Park Superin-tendent, Doug Long. “The park has been the site of countless, treasured family memories from visi-tors from all corners of the Earth! Like many other park staff, I have worked at the park for over 20 years but have also been a visitor myself for over 30 years, surfing or enjoying the pristine beaches.”The 50th anniversary celebrations will kick off with a “Celebrate Fishing” event on May 13. After the “Celebrate Fishing” event in May, park staff will be hosting a “Celebrate the Beach” event on Saturday, July 8, in conjunction with the annu-al Sandcastle Contest. On Saturday August 26, park visitors will have the opportunity to “Celebrate the Bay” during a paddling event, and on Saturday, September 23, there will be a “Celebrate the Inlet” event, complete with a beach bonfire, guided night hikes of the bridges, and an exclusive opportunity to camp directly on the beach. For details, check out destateparks.com/DSSP50th. In addition to the four Celebrations, park staff will also be compiling the Delaware Seashore State Park “Family Scrapbook.” Scharle explains that “this is where we need the help from our visitors. We’re asking anyone that has old family pho-tos of the park to share them with us. We know there are some real gems sitting in a shoebox in someone’s attic right now and we’d love to see them. We’re not looking for profession-al photos or pictures you snapped last week. We are seeking pictures from decades ago.” Submitted photos will be compiled in a digital family scrapbook that will be featured online towards the end of the year. Some of the pho-tos may even be used for future park history exhibits and presentations. To submit photos, visit destateparks.com/DSSP50th or send a private message to facebook.com/delaware-seashorestatepark. For more information about upcoming 50th anniversary events or the state park’s family scrapbook, call (302) 227-6991.
