It was good to see a number of our Guests from the previous week join us. It was good for them to hear a bit more about Rotary. It was also good to have some explanation of the process and reasonings behind the changes in the logo. It has been an interesting week on LinkedIn with the discussion that has been taking place around the logo. I suggest that you take the opportunity to have a look at the following Rotary link which explains it all http:// www.rotary.org/myrotary/en/ manage/tools-templates. Thank you to Colleen Gilmore for hosting Carol Biemel whilst the Business Meeting was taking place. We had some visitors, CEO, Jock Gillespie, and Operations Manager, Nigel Barrett, from the PCYC Federation in WA attend as they were in town for a series of meetings Tuesday and Wednesday. I invited them along as I felt it would be a great opportunity for them to chat with DG Erwin about possible opportunities with Rotary. At some stage in the future when they are in Kalgoorlie again we will have them as Guest Speakers to talk to us about PCYC's and their roles in Communities. All I can say at this point is that there are some exciting times coming up for PCYC Kalgoorlie! Wednesday night the club had a social night at our home where Pilar showed us her final presentation prior to her leaving, to complete her exchange. It was a great presentation really well put together. Pilar thanked the Club and Rotary for the great opportunity she was given by being on exchange and expressed her regret that the Exchange was finishing early. Pilar leaves Kalgoorlie on Friday 13 September. Monday night we get to hear from Chelsea Gillam about her experiences as a Group Study Exchange team member in Brazil earlier this year. Having been to Brazil, I am looking forward to hearing from Chelsea. Planning is well in hand for the Streets are Paved with Gold. We all need to get behind the Club and Michael to ensure the success of this fundraiser. As I have mentioned before if you are aware of any possible sponsors, chat to Michael to get the relevant details prior to approaching the business. Recipients for this event are KBULG and Rotary Youth Projects. Following closely on the heels of Streets of Gold is our Battle of the Brains Quiz Night in October. Lloyd is working behind the scenes on preliminary work for this event. Club members need to get behind this event also. Recipients for this event are Kathleen Day Playgroup, Kalgoorlie PCYC, Rotary Projects. Enjoy the rest of your week whilst you Engage Rotary, Change Lives Have a great weekend! Club Bulletin - Issue 7 Monday 9 September 2013

2013/14 President: Esther Roadnight OAM

What a busy week we have had!

Monday saw the Board have their Business Meeting with DG Erwin Biemel. This was a great opportunity to go through our Plans for the year with DG Erwin and for Erwin to suggest some other programs we may like to undertake if we can fit them into our program for the year.

Following on from the Business Meeting we had our weekly meeting. Thank you to Edward and Rydges for looking after us so well on the night.

It was good to see a number of our Guests from the previous week join us. It was good for them to hear a bit more about Rotary.

It was also good to have some explanation of the process and reasonings behind the changes in the logo. It has been an interesting week on LinkedIn with the discussion that has been taking place around the logo.

I suggest that you take the opportunity to have a look at the following Rotary link which explains it all http://www.rotary.org/myrotary/en/manage/tools-templates.

Thank you to Colleen Gilmore for hosting Carol Biemel whilst the Business Meeting was taking place.

We had some visitors, CEO, Jock Gillespie, and Operations

Manager, Nigel Barrett, from the PCYC Federation in WA attend as they were in town for a series of meetings Tuesday and Wednesday.

Pilar thanked the Club and Rotary for the great opportunity she was given by being on exchange and

expressed her regret that the Exchange was finishing early.

Enjoy the rest of your week whilst you Engage Rotary, Change Lives

Have a great weekend!
