MODERN FAIRY TALE COMES TO LIFE WITH “ROSE AND THE RIME” AT LEWIS UNIVERSITY
Lewis University’s Philip Lynch Theatre (PLT) presents “Rose and the Rime” by Nathan Allen, Chris
Mathews and Jake Minton. This original Midwestern fairytale allows the audience to rediscover their inner youth,
as well as find the truth behind fairy tale and myth.
“Rose and the Rime” follows the spirited youth, Rose (Rachel Tau of Wood Dale), as she embarks on a
quest to save the town of Radio Falls, Michigan from the wintery frozen curse of the Rime Witch (Alex Weaver of
Burbank). Along her journey she learns anything powerful enough to fulfill her dreams is also powerful enough to
destroy them.
Jo Slowik of Joliet, Lewis University’s Philip Lynch Theatre Manager directs the cast of 13 Lewis
University students. Fourth year student Carli Wheeler of Joliet is the stage manager. Other production staff
member include: Jessie Richey of McHenry (assistant stage manager), Celeste Mackey of Joliet and Danielle
Taylor of Hazel Crest (costume and makeup design, respectively), Melissa Chicola of Lockport (set design),

design/operator), Jon Erickson of Chicago (light board operator), Mike Friar of Tinley Park (musical
composition), Melanie Gillies of Lombard (props), Becky Hicks of Joliet (music and vocal director), Dave
