Mission & Philosphy Rosarian Academy, founded in 1925, is a private, coeducational Catholic school sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters. Its mission is to educate the whole person for life in a global community in the light of Gospel values.

Belief Statements • We believe in a Christ-centered community of faith.

• We believe each student is a valued individual with unique spiritual, physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.

• We believe that the quest for self-improvement is a continuous process.

• We believe in a strong academic program enriched by the fine arts and extracurricular opportunities.

• We believe that service to others is an integral part of the Rosarian Academy community.

• We believe in educating students to make a positive difference in the world.

• We believe in the Dominican tradition of prayer, study, reflection, and action.

• We believe in fostering an awareness of the continual need for social change.

• We believe in and respect religious, ethnic, cultural, and economic diversity.

D e a r Rosarian Academy Community: In its 88th year, Rosarian Academy continues to be the only independent Catholic school in Palm Beach County. Presenting its students with a standard of excellence second to none, Rosarian provides the foundation to live life with faith, knowledge, and service--with the goal to make every student “strong for life.” This is accomplished through the support of our donors and the efforts of a dedicated community of faculty and staff who work in unison with administration and parents to provide each student with the tools necessary to be successful.

This annual report is a declaration of the generosity of you, the Rosarian community. Through the financial support of parents, past parents, alumni, grandparents and friends of Rosarian, we are able to constantly improve our facilities and technology; retain highly trained and qualified faculty and staff; maintain small class sizes; offer an advanced, progressive and accelerated academic program; provide outstanding athletics and arts; increase co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Each gift received is a testament to the value of a Rosarian education--educating and fostering students to make a positive difference in this world. We are forever grateful.

Reflecting on the 2013-2014 academic year, Rosarian continued to experience both educational and philanthropic growth. Enrollment reached its highest point in years as we welcomed eighty-eight new students. The Early Childhood Program hit maximum capacity with an extensive waiting list. Twenty-three seventh grade students were recognized as Duke University Talent Identification Scholars by scoring in the 95th percentile on standardized testing. Middle School faculty and students embraced the use of iPad technology in the classroom to enhance self-directed learning, varied learning activities and creativity. We continued living our faith in service to others with class trips to help underprivileged children, sandwiches to feed the homeless, collection of over 3,400 pounds of Food for Families and over 1,000 toys for less fortunate children, community gleans picking over 9,000 pounds of bell peppers and 6,000 pounds of corn for the hungry. Sports highlights included girls’ basketball team league champions for the second year in a row and swim team champions for the 23rd consecutive year. To further integrate the Arts into the school community, we started an extra-curricular Strings Chamber Orchestra Program, open to students as young as three years old. The expansion of clubs and other extra-curricular activities also included Soccer for ages three to five, Computer Programming, Zumba KIDS, Mind Lab, and Karate.

This year’s Annual Fund goal of $75,000 was met and exceeded by $40,000. Thank you to the class agents for your time and assistance in sharing the important message of the Annual Fund which closes the gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of educating students at Rosarian. The 35th Annual Auction and Rose Ball was also a great success. Mission complete for chairs Paula Cook, Cecilia Lim, and Kelly Rooney who led the efforts in exceeding the fundraising goal for “Casino Royale.”

It is with utmost appreciation that we thank you once again for supporting Rosarian Academy so that we can continue to provide the best foundation for life, making each student strong for life.

“Our four children started attending Rosarian Academy in 2002, when we moved from Mexico City, Mexico to West Palm Beach, FL. Coming from another country, we wanted to make sure we provided them with a very strong academic foundation as well as a nurturing and respectful environment. Rosarian not only met but exceeded our expectations in both.

We moved to Palm Beach eight years ago when our sons were entering the third and sixth grades. Even after my boys were long gone from Rosarian, I served on the Finance Committee, the Board, and the Executive Committee, and I continue to support the school. Why? Because I continue to believe in the value of a Rosarian education. I have learned that the more I give to an organization, the more I appreciate and love that organization.

My family honors my dad this year by introducing a third generation to Rosarian, so that she may experience the Christ-centered academic environment in which we prospered in the arms of our Blessed Mother. Rosarian’s values and our love for this wonderful institution have never wavered. -Ginny Benz Parker, Class of 1972, Parent of Kate (1996), Julie (1998), Tommy (2001) and Grandparent of Maggie Spencer (future Class of 2026)
