On Saturday, February 24th, about 90 students from RLC part icipated in the creat ive problem-solving Odyssey of the Mind (OOTM) tournament. The Dulles region tournament, held at Park View High School, brought together students from 20 elementary schools in the Dulles region with over 120 teams competing across five problems and also a non-competing primary problem. In the Odyssey of the Mind, teams take on one problem and use teamwork and creat ivity to solve the problem. The competit ion includes a

creat ive performance and a spontaneous problem to be solved in front of judges. RLC teams trained through the season, typically beginning around October through the tournament day. One team won third place for problem 3. Two RLC teams won the first place in the division award for the problem 2 and problem 4 for their creat ive solut ions. The first-place winning teams will be advancing to State championship tournament to be held on April 14th. We would like to congratulate all our teams for their part icipat ion and best wishes to the two teams advancing to the state tournament.
