CurriculumIt is our hope that our children and
youth create a Christian community with their classmates and teachers in a safe, loving environment. While a classroom model is largely used, there is great variety of approaches amongst teachers. Students are encouraged to learn and ask questions in a caring, nurturing environment.
Our Pre-K through 5th grade classes will use the Lectionary based Spark curriculum from the Evangelical Church in America. The themes used will also be reflected in worship, engaging students in

The Team: Each class is staffed by a team of two or three teachers who cooperatively share the teaching responsibilities. Beyond the Director of Youth and Family Ministry, all teachers are volunteers. We are grateful for this shared ministry and pray that all are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit who works through heart and hands in healthy mentoring relationships.
Parents are always welcome to join their children in class or to assist the teachers as needs arise. Please drop off your elementary aged children at the door of the class at 10 am and pick them up again at 10:45 am so that teachers can be freed up for worship.
Snacks: Since generous offerings are generally provided in the community room between services, snacks will not be requested for the classrooms. Kids are encouraged to grab a bite before they come to class.
The Nursery is available during the Sunday School hour for teachers as well as parents who wish to attend classes.

As they proceed through the year, they will begin to really know Jesus and learn ways to live their faith in the world. Each week the kids will work with a packet that they can take home to review with their parents so that parents will know how to reinforce the lessons during the week.
We will not be offering Confirmation this year, putting it on hold and instead our 6th & 7th grade class will use an online curriculum called Ministry to Youth. It is topic based with games, discussion and
