    SHAKESPEARES GLOBE THEATRE

  • The Globe Theatre audience was a very important part of the play. At this marvelous theatre was a pit where groundlings or stinkards stood, and they paid 1 penny. There were 3 galleries in the Globe Theatre where people could sit for more money. When rich ladies went they wore masks so they would not be seen. The groundlings would throw things and shout if they did not like the actors or the play. One good thing is that anybody could afford going to the theater. In the Globe Theatre, the audience was almost like another character. Shakespeare wrote his plays so the audiences could interact with the actors. In addition, there was even a part in the stage where actors would talk to the audience. This is why the audience was a very important part of the plays.
