• As EPC Contractor, Romelectro is leading the complex development of the Jiu River on Bumbeşti–Livezeni stretch and the construction of two hydropower plants with an installed power of more than 60 MW.
• As investor and general contractor, Romelectro developed 3 Micro Hydro Power Plants on Mănăileasa River with an installed power of 1.45 MW.
• Romelectro carried out the feasibility studies for the Ramdane Djamel and Zaouia Dams (Algeria); detailed technical design for the Bougous and Bouhalloufa Dams (Algeria); turnkey execution of the Vafreghan Dam (Iran); execution of the El – Fakia (Algeria) and turnkey heightening of the Ksob Dam (Algeria).

Dense Slurry System at Turceni TPP
Turceni TPP is the largest coal fired producer, supplying more than 10% of the energy consumed in Romania.
Scope of the project: Solutions for discharge, transport and storage of the waste resulting from the coal firing process at Turceni TPP, using dense slurry technology. The new investment consists mainly of:

Dense Slurry System at Craiova II CHPP
Part of Oltenia Energy Complex, Craiova II CHPP
(2 × 150 MW) has a significant importance both for the Romanian power sector and for the city of Craiova, being the only heat producer both for population and strategic industrial consumers such as Ford automotive factory and other plants on the industrial platform. Scope of the project: Increasing the stability of the Valea Mănăstirii slag and ash deposit by executing the installations for ash and slag dense fluid and by developing the storage for the first hightening.

Craiova II CHPP - Dense Slurry System
Ișalnița TPP - Dense Slurry System
Part of Oltenia Energy Complex, Ișalnița TPP (2 × 315 MW) has a significant importance for the Romanian power sector being one of the largest power generation capacities operation in Romania.
Scope of the project: Increasing the stability of the slag and ash storage of SE Ișalnița, on the right and left banks of Jiu river, using dense fluid technology. The solution is designed to transform the existing heavily polluting ash handling system to match the eco-friendly dense slurry technology.

Govora CHPP is the only thermal energy producer for Râmnicu-Vâlcea area in Romania. It is also the only steam supplier for Râmnicu Vâlcea industrial platform and it can deliver power to the national power grid.
Scope of the project: Modernization of the electrostatic precipitators for boilers no. 5 and no. 6 at Govora CHPP, aiming to reduce the level of dust emissions at maximum 48 mg/Nm3 at ESP’s outlet.

It is the first major project in Romania in the field of Waste-to-Energy, according to the National Waste Management Strategy, included in the Waste Management Plan
This project proposes the execution of an alternative fuel incineration plant, fuel resulting from the sorting process of municipal waste and generation of electricity and heat.
Objectives: - Discarding the sorted waste by conversion of the resulting alternative fuel into energy, by means of a high efficiency cogeneration plant; - Reducing the methane gas consumption by replacing it with this alternative fuel, the result being approximately 16 million m3/year.

Rovinari TPP unit 4 Modernization of Electric and Automation Installations
• The executed works provided an efficient operation of Power Unit No. 4, in safe and highly reliable conditions. Moreover, the requirements related to the environmental legislation shall also be achieved in operation.
• Full replacement of the 6 and 0.4 kV substations, the DC substations, rectifiers, inverters, and 24 and 220 V DC stationary batteries, digital protections for the power unit, static excitation, substation and IT aggregates for the electrostatic precipitators, DCS – Distributed Control System, firing control system, measurement loops in the boiler and machinery halls, Governor control system of the steam turbine and boiler feed pump turbine.
• ROMELECTRO, acting as Consortium Leader had to identify the best technical solutions and harmonization of the delivered equipment with the existing or refurbished installations.

Romelectro became the owner of the hydro power capacity on Mănăileasa River in 2006. As investor and EPC Contractor, in 2009 Romelectro started the works for the complete rehabilitation of Voineasa MHPP, creating a new and efficient capacity for harvesting the renewable potential of Mănăileasa River.
Scope of the project: developing the 3 Micro Hydro Power Plants on Mănăileasa River with an installed power of 1.45 MW by replacing the old generation capacities with new hydro-mechanical and electrical equipment.

Refurbishment of the 400/110 kV Brașov Substation
The 400/110 kV electrical substation in Brașov has a particular importance for the National Power System and for the local grid. It represents a junction for power lines connecting Muntenia, South Transylvania and the poorly covered Moldovian area. The substation supplies the local consumption area (around 167 MW) being also the connecting point for Brașov TPP.
Scope of the project: upgrading of the primary and secondary circuits in the 400/110kV substation, by full refurbishing. The purpose is to complete a new 400 kV outdoor electrical substation, equipped with the modern high-performance conventional installations, as well as a new indoor 110 kV electrical substation, equipped with SF6 insulated installations (GIS cells).
