• Mary Shelley was born in 1797.
• William Godwin , the author of political Justice was father of Mary Shelley.
• Frankenstein was written in 1818 in the last years of the reign of George – 3.
About the novel
Combination of science fiction and classical horror
Shelley has created the sense of being haunted
Challenges gods authority like Satan
It is a gothic novel prevailing darkness and the suspense of the
reality
Also created fear by creation of the monster

Frankenstein was a young Swiss boy, from a wealthy
family. He has desire or hope to discover the “power” of “the needle” and he has “ardent
curiosity” to achieve something.

Conclusion• Thus, the novel is largely shaped by the contrast between
hubristic hopes and human despair.• This hope and despair is comes one by one into the novel• We can not say that the end of the novel is either hope or despair.
