INTRODUCTION;;
The rising sun of computerization has enlightened practically every
discipline of life -- and cosmetic surgery is no exception.
The role of Advance Computer Simulation Technique has helped both
the Physician and the Patient in the following manner:
1. It helps the patient clearly express his inner desire about the changes
he/she is looking for and his/her emotional needs.
2. It helps the physician to visually demonstrate to the patient, with
complete clarity the “ NEW-LOOK ” or the physical changes
expected post surgery.
OBJECTIVESThe role of Advance Computer Simulation is to avoid postoperative dissatisfaction. The Computer Simulation equipment is a tool, which displays images of the existing state of the patient with the help of a video camera and the frame grabber card. Through the “ HaloViz” software program the image is reproduced on the dual monitor system and subsequently it is split into two separate images. One remains as a standard image and other is modified accordingly.
This same process can be repeated for the side profile, face, breast, abdomen, thighs and other parts of the body.
Technical Details1. IBM Compatible Personal Computer.
2. Video Frame Grabber.
3. Compatible Camera
4. Image Processing Software.
5. Video Printer.
Procedure.1. Scan Patients themselves or their Picture.
2. Make Duplicate Image.
3. Consult and make Feasible Corrections on one of the Pictures.
4. Finalize the Surgical Procedures Required.
5. Produce Hardcopy Output on Video Printer or video tape.
Advanced Computer Simulation
After a peaceful and thorough hearing of the patients needs and aspirations, the physician designs a “new-look” or the futuristic image on the patient’s existing image.
Here the simple formulae of success are as follows--
1. PS = DE 2. PD = E LS AFC
3. Ph H = CS 4. Pt H = PO PN CS
1. Patient’s Satisfaction = Detailed Explanation Limitations of Surgery.
2. Pts Dissatisfaction = Explaining not to expect Unrealistic Changes
Actual Future Changes.
3. Physician’s Happiness = What Cosmetic Surgery can provide
What are the patient needs
4. Patients Happiness = Post Operative appearance of the patients
Pre operative simulation

Conclusion
This clearly shows that the more the patient was explained of the post-operative possibilities without leaving out any of the points including, what if anything goes wrong, then more the satisfaction level goes up. This had revealed a basic truth -- Educate the Patient. The patient should know the advantages, disadvantages, positives and negatives and possible chances of failure. It is more important to explain the patient “What If Anything Goes Wrong”, after the surgery than to only highlight “ The Benefits of the Operation”. This scientific analysis of the 7,254 patients supports the theory that -- the physician must explain to the patients about failure of Advance Computer Simulation Techniques to avoid postoperative dissatisfaction as much as he talks of the advantages and benefits.
