Free School Meal Entitlement

Schools now receive lots of extra funding in their budgets for each pupil who is entitled to receive Free School meals (FSM).

We believe that we have a number of families who are eligible for FSM but have not applied. We would assure you that pupils receiving FSM are not identified and all

information is strictly confidential.

It could be that your child is eligible for a free school meal if you are entitled to receive one of the following benefits:

•Income support

•Jobseekers Allowance (Income based)

•Income related Employment Support Allowance

•Support under Part VI of the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999

•The guaranteed element of the State Pensions Credit

•Child Tax Credit provided there is no entitlement to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs) that does not exceed

£16,190.00, this also applies to parents who are working less than 16 hours per week.

•We would encourage you to apply even if your child does not want to take up the meals; as it could make a significant difference to the school’s budget if you make

an application.

•For further information, please contact the Free School Meals Benefits office on the following number – 0845 070 10 66 as soon as possible.

Our year 4 children have been to visit Witton Park City Learning Centre this week. As part of their Tudor topic this term, they had a Crazy Talk and created exciting work on the computer.
