October?! Already?! Can you believe parent/teacher conferences are about to begin? Take advantage of this opportunity to talk individually with your child’s teacher. Hopefully you have already enjoyed an open line of communication with your child’s teacher(s), but if not – it is never too late! By telling the teacher that you want to communicate with him or her, you are letting them know that you want to hear when there is an issue on the playground and you will be sure to tell them when a rough weekend has left your child on the wrong side of the bed come Monday morning. When you establish a dialogue, things don’t get out of hand. Seeing all the pieces of a puzzle can help a teacher and a parent! At the beginning of the school year you filled out forms to tell the teacher if your child has any allergies or special health concerns. A teacher also wants to know about things that may not be written on those forms. Keep him or her informed of health and behavioral concerns that are not on your child’s paperwork. Is your child seeing a behavioral therapist? That’s good information to share! Did your child struggle with reading (or in another area) in the past? That’s good information to share! Please know this information is strictly confidential so only necessary staff members will be aware. We are a team at PSE (students, parents, teachers/staff) so let’s work together…. go team! The SLT members for the 2015-2016 school year are: Mrs. Adams, Mrs. O’Connor, Mrs. Ikoku, Ms. Keith, Mr. Henderson, Dawn Weber, Marlene Rosen, Julie Cho, Aileen Westover and Kevon Makell. eviewRRFriday, October 9th - Friday, October 16th

It’s that time of year when the children head out to the track during their regularlyscheduled PE time for the Personal Best Challenge Run.

Volunteer responsibilities are simple, yet very important. Your job is to come during yourchild’s class, and keep a tally of how many laps they run in their given time period. Forthe Challenge Run to go smoothly and effectively we need at least SIX VOLUNTEERS PERCLASS!!!

Please review the Challenge Run day and time chart below to see if you can help countlaps.

Please check in at the table by the track 10 minutes prior to your child'srun time (even if you're a pro at counting laps) so we know that theclass is covered with enough volunteers. *If you are late your spot maybe given to someone else.

Thank you so much!

* If you can volunteer for your child’s class, please sign up using SignUpGenius:http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0849a5a728a31-spring1.

For any questions regarding your volunteering, please contact Lisa O’Donnell [email protected] or Liz Blosser at [email protected]. If you have anyquestions about the Challenge Run, please email Mrs. Wyatt [email protected].

***Remember you can also run with your child if you would like!!!

Thank you so very much for your continuous support.
