Robo-Quiz
Playing Instructions
Class interaction is maximised by dividing the class into two teams, each with a representative at the IWB. Students from each team must convince their representative of the correct alternative answer.
A valuable tip for this style of quiz play is to ensure that you are not setting your questions too easy. For team quiz play, questions should be of the type that ‘maybe some one might know the answer’ rather than of the type ‘everyone should know the answer’. If the quiz is too easy, every question will be answered correctly and it will prove uninteresting. But if the questions are difficult, a team member who knows the answer will need to convince their representative at the IWB of their conviction and this adds to the interactivity of the quiz game.
Editing Instructions
Save this file under another name (File>Save As….)
Select each question and overtype it with your own. Similarly with each of the alternative answers. It may appear that the robot’s call-out quips interfere with your question making it difficult to read. There’s no need to move them. They will not be of concern when you are viewing in slide show mode.
The robot’s corny callouts may be edited too if you wish.
Important!
Some IWBs can have problems locking up on slide transition when playing animated power points like this one (Activ, Hitachi and others). The problem is simply overcome as follows: As soon as you open the slide show in viewer mode (SlideShow>View Show) you will notice some ghosted transition controls that appear at the bottom left of the screen. If they are not there hover your mouse over the bottom left corner of your computer’s monitor. Click on the central ‘pointer like’ object. Then ‘arrow options’, then ‘visible’. This ensures smooth play!
