Forweddingsandlargerevents,youmaywanttorentoutmultiplespacesinthenaturecenter.Aspecialpackagepriceof$4,000isavailableinthiscase.Thiscostis15%offofthecostofrentingeachofthespacesindividuallyforyourevent.Weddingsandlargereventsareavailableduringtheeveninghoursonly,andmaynotbeginuntilthenaturecenterclosestothepublicat5p.m.Setupincertainspacesmaybeginpriorto 5p.m.ifarrangedwiththeRentalCoordinatorpriortothedayoftheevent.

Reservations and PaymentYour date may be held only with the payment of the refundablesecuritydeposit.Theentirebalanceoftherentalisdue30dayspriortoyourevent.

Cancellation PolicyTheHowardCountyRecreation&Parkscancellationpolicyisthefollowing:“Writtennoticeofcancellationisdueatleast30dayspriortotheevent.Additionalnoticemayberequiredforlargerevents,asdeter-minedbytheRentalCoordinator.Ifthereservationiscancelledmorethan30daysbeforeevent,a20%administrativefeewillberetained.Iftheeventiscancelledlessthan30dayspriortotheevent,these-curitydepositandrentalfeewillberetained.Longercancellationswillbespecifiedattimeofbooking.”

Guest CapacityThemezzaninepatiocanaccommodate160peoplebanquet-style,andtheauditoriumcanaccommodate78peoplebanquet-styleand120peopletheater-style.

CateringThe James and Anne Robinson Nature Center does nothavealistofapprovedcaterers.Youmayuseanycatereryouwish,butwecanprovidesomenamesofcompaniesthathavecateredothereventsatourfacility.RobinsonNatureCenteralsodoesnothaveafullyequippedkitchenwithovensandstoves.Asmall,warmingkitchenwithfridgeandfreezer,sink,countersspaceandmicrowaveisincludedintherentalandcanbeusedbyyourcatereroryourparty.

Alcohol PolicyAlcoholmaybeservedwithintherentalspacesattheRobinsonNatureCenter.Theregulationofitsserviceandconsumptioniscoveredinthefacilityrentalpermit.Alcoholmayonlybesoldifaone-dayliquorlicense is applied for and obtained from the Howard CountyLiquorBoard.Alcoholmustbesupervisedbyanadult21yearsofageorolderatalltimes.

Chairs and TentsClassroom spaces and auditorium spaces include ta-blesandchairssettoyourspecifications.Tablesandchairsareforindooruseonly,andmaynotbetakenoutsideonthemezzaninepatio.Therearealimitednumberofpatiotablesandchairs(picturedonpage3)foruse.RobinsonNatureCenterallowsuserstotentthemezzaninepatioandrentadditionaltablesandchairsforthespace.However,usersmust coordinatewithanoutsidecompanytodoso.

ParkingRobinsonNatureCenterhas122regularparkingspacesandeight(8)handicapparkingspaces availableforyourguests.

Set Up and Clean UpAlldeliveriesmustbecompletedwithintherentaltimeframe.Additionaltimetosetupmaybe purchased.Tentingofthemezzaninepatiois allowedpriortoyourevent.PleasecontacttheRental Coordinatorwithspecialrequests/considerations.

Overnight StorageRobinsonNatureCenterdoesnothavestorage.Pleasebringeverythingyouwillneedthedayofyourevent.

After Your Wedding or EventRental items must be picked up no later than the day afteryoureventby5p.m.(thisincludestent,tables,chairs,flatware,etc.).HowardCountyRecreation&Parksisnotresponsibleforanydamage/theftthatmayoccurifitemsareleftatthefacilityovernight.

Q: Is set-up and clean-up time included in my rental?Yes,youareallowedaccesstoyourrentalspaceonlyduringthehoursyouhavepaidforasindicatedonyourpermit.Allmaterialsmayonlybebroughtinandremovedduringthattime.Thescheduleforsetupand take down of tent rentals for the Mezzanine Patiomustbecoordinatedinadvance.Wecan providecontactsforlocaltentrentalcompaniesatyourrequest.

Q: How much parking is available?Thereare122regularparkingspacesandeight(8) handicapparkingspacesavailable.

Q: What is permitted within the waiver language for a facility rental at Robinson Nature Center?Thefollowingisthewaiverthatmustbeagreedtoandsignedbythepersonrentingthefacility:Applicants agree to follow and enforce the policies

included in this document and the "Rules and Regula-tionsforHowardCountyParks"asabbreviatedfromSection19.200through19.211oftheHowardCountyCode.Theapplicant'sresponsibilityextendstoitsparticipantsandspectators.SeetheCountycodeforpenaltiesforviolationsofthesesections.PriorityuseisgiventoprogramssponsoredbytheDepartment. Rules of ConductThe applicant agrees to enforce the following rules ofconductforitsparticipants;assumesresponsibilityfordamagetoproperty,andsupervisionandcontrolofallparticipantsduringtheuseofthefacility.

1.Theremustbearesponsibleadultpresentat alltimes.

2.Smokingisprohibitedontheproperty.3.Solicitingorloiteringisprohibited.4.Interferencewithemployeeandvolunteerduties

isprohibitedbylaw.5.Inappropriateorindecentconduct,harassment

and/orlanguageisstrictlyprohibited.6.Useofillegaldrugsandweaponsisstrictly

prohibitedbylaw.7.Parkinginunauthorizedareasanddrivingor

parkingonfieldareasisprohibited.8.Defacingofproperty(indoorsoroutdoors)

isprohibited.9.Anyotherconductthatmayjeopardizethe

safetyofothersisprohibited.10.FullcompliancewiththeRulesandRegulations

forHowardCountyParksisrequired.11.Anyfurnishingsmustbereturnedtotheir

original arrangement at the conclusion of allevents.

12.Saleofalcoholicbeveragesisprohibitedunless aone-dayliquorpermitisobtainedandprovidedbeforedateofuse.

Any applicant reported to the Department for improp-eruseoffacilitiesoruseinconsistentwiththepoliciescoveredinthisagreementwillbesuspendedfromthefacilities.TheDepartmentreservestherighttodeny,putonprobationorcancelanyfacilityagreementforanyreasonablecauseorviolationofthisagreement.Everyattemptwillbemadetogivetheapplicantadequatenoticeofanycancellationordenial.

Trash Pick UpThe Department holds the applicant responsible for collectingalltrashthatisaccumulatedduringoraftertheeventandplacingitintheappropriateprovidedreceptacles.ThiseffortisessentialfortheDepart-menttocontinuethemaintenanceofitsfacilities.TheDepartmentchargesa$50-per-staffhalf-hourfee($50minimumcharge)fortrashcleanup.

DecorationsThe Department holds the applicant responsible for removingalldecorations.Noadhesivematerialsshallbeusedonthewallsorceilingsoftherentalfacility.ThiseffortisessentialfortheDepartmenttocontinuetoofferaclean,appealingfacility.(TheDepartmentchargesa$50-per-staffhalf-hourfee($50minimumcharged)fortrashcleanup.

I,theundersignedrepresentingtheorganization/group/family,havereviewedthisdocumentandagree to inform all members of its contents and to assurethatthisorganization/group/familyenforcesandfollowsallprovisionsofthisagreement.Ifurthergiveassurancethattheorganization/group/familyoragencythatIrepresentisincompliancewithallapplicableFederal,Stateandlocallaws,includingtheAmericanswithDisabilitiesAct.Iunderstandand accept that the Howard County Department ofRecreation&Parksreservestherighttorequireinsuranceforspecialeventsandwaiversofliabilityfromindividualparticipants.Onbehalfoftheorganization/group/family,Iagree

toindemnifyandholdharmlessHowardCounty,Maryland,HowardCountyDepartmentofRecreation&Parks,itsagentsandemployeesfromanyliabilityor claim for damages of any kind arising out of the useofsaidfacilitiesorspace,includingtheft,tothespaceorpropertylocatedwithinthespace,exceptonlywhensuchlossesaresolelyattributableandproximatelycausedbythenegligenceofHowardCounty,itsemployeesoragents.Thisindemnifica-tionisnottobedeemedasawaiverofanyimmunitywhichmayexistinanyactionagainstHowardCounty.Onbehalfoftheabovementionedorganization/group/family,I,theundersigned,realizethatfailuretofulfillmyobligationstoHowardCountywillinaddi-tiontotheaforesaidobligationtoindemnify,resultinanimmediatereimbursementoffeesorexpenses.Thisdocumentsupersedesallothersrelativetothepermitforactivitiesrequestedbythisorganization/group/family.
