I have seen one particular vessel which has reduced fuel consumption from 6 tons per day to 4.8 tons per day. With about 180 sea days this translates into a saving of 216 tons or 20%, this is a saving of approximately EUR 130,000 per year. Which is a huge amount of money for a small ship such as this (3800 tons).

“However, if they were to increase that to just US$100 a day to take advantage of unlimited email and data, our figures show they could actually reduce the cost of running a ship by 10 per cent.”

• Schedule jobs to run every so many minutes, or daily and weekly.

• No need to wake the Captain

• Add jobs remotely from your office to run on any number of ships.
