Twelve years after the British and the colonists defeated the French, the colonists found themselves against the British. The actions of the British between 17631776 caused the American Revolution.
The actions of the British caused the American Revolution because the British passed taxes upon the colonies. England controlled other places around the world, and limited their rights too, such as India. According to Document 1, by Samuel Adams, "the acts made by Parliament...are threats," to the colonies. Due to these unfair taxes, it was likely that many Patriots and colonists would go against the British.
The actions of the British caused the American Revolution because the British (attacked the colonists) (were violent). Out of 100 unarmed civilians, eleven were killed by British soldiers. These soldiers shot without the order from their Captain, Thomas Preston. According to the picture, Document 2, the British shot into the crowd of colonists. This shows how violent the British soldiers were, firing according to their own will.
The actions of the British caused the American Revolution because the British passed unfair laws. The Intolerable Acts shut the port of Boston, limited town meetings to once a year limiting the colonists' freedom. According to Document 3, the Intolerable Act would "discontinue...the loading and shipping of goods...in North America," therefore limiting the colonies. This act limited the American people so much that they decided to revolt against the British.
