Boyne Parade 2017 Saturday 8th July 2017

This event will be held on Saturday 8th July 2017 and there will be a parade from West End Park around Alloa from 12.30pm until 4.30pm.

Due to the parade taking place, there will be various road closures and parking restrictions in place on Saturday 8th July 2017. Details are in this booklet for your information.

Some areas will experience significant restrictions during the parade due to the numbers involved. This event will cause traffic disruption in the area, for more information check out www.clacksweb.org.uk

Road Closures - 8th July, 2017

8am until 6pm - A907 Arnsbrae to Marshill, Church Street (part of), Glasshouse Loan (part of), Caledonian Road (part of), Earl of Mar Court, Ludgate, Cowden Park, Redwell Place (at junction), Alexandra Drive (at Junction), Claremont (at junction), Ochil Street (at junction).

10am until 6pm - A907 King Street (westbound), Drysdale Street (part of), Primrose Place, Mill Street (part of), East Vennel, Candleriggs, Castle Street, Glasshouse Loan (part of).

12 noon until 6pm - Parkhead Road (from Branshill Road and Ashley Terrace).

12.30pm until 5.30pm - Rolling Closure on full parade route. Frequently Asked Questions Why is this Parade being allowed to take place?

Under Section 62 of the Civic Government (Scotland)Act 1982 groups and individuals have the right to parade. Arrangements are being put in place in respect of public safety and to assist in minimising disruption, where possible, to residents and businesses.

Why are main roads being closed off early in the morning before the parade starts?To ensure public safety no parking cones will be set up, parked cars moved to facilitate the parking of over 120 buses

Will I still be able to access Alloa Town centre?Alloa Town Centre is accessible via Whins Road, Clackmannan Road, and Greenside Street. Candleriggs, Greenside and Kilncraigs car parks are fully operational. Access is available to all major supermarkets and their car parks

What happens if I need to call emergency services during this time?Police, Fire and Ambulance will be allowed access through the parade

Will public transport still be operating?Train services are running as normal.Bus services will be diverted, where required, via the B9140, notification will be on all bus stops affected. All buses and taxis will access the town centre via Primrose Street.

Do I need to move my vehicle if the parade is passing my house?If you require access to your vehicle during the hours of the road closures our advice would be to move your vehicle to another area which is accessible before the road closure takes effect. Parking restrictions will be in place in certain areas where road widths are limited to allow the parade to pass safely.

What If I am getting a delivery that day?Deliveries will not be possible through the closures, please rearrange.
