COLLEGE ACTIVITIES:
The Inauguration of First Year BE / B TECH Classes for the Academic Year 2013-14 was
celebrated on 09.08.2013. Shri Jayaprakash A Gandhi and Shri Suresh Punjabi – the doyens in
the field of education were the Chief Guests. Our Founder Chairman Vidya Ratna
Shri R S Munirathinam presided over the function. Principal Dr E B Perumal Pillai rendered
Welcome Address, Vice Principal Dr S Bhagavathi Perumal introduced the guests.
Shri R M Kishore, Vice Chairman, Dr M S Palanichamy Advisor, Shri T N Ramanathan

Second Alumni Meet was held on 24-11-13 at Hotel Jaya Pushpam Chennai. It was attended
by distinguished guests & alumini. Various events were conducted. Department wise Best

ENGINEERING EDUCATORS AWARD:
The Vice Chairman Shri R M Kishore receives The Engineering Educators Award
for Exemplary Commitment and Impactful Positive Contribution to the Education
Sector on behalf of RMKCET. The award was given by British Deputy High
Commission - Chennai, Robert Gordon University and Aberdeen University of Bradford
on 07.10.2013 in the august presence of Education Minister of the State, Honourable
P. Palaniappan and the Principal of the college.
YRC BLOOD DONATION CAMP:
The Youth Red Cross Unit of RMKCET conducted a Blood Donation Camp on 05.10.2013 in
the campus in coordination with M/S Right Hospitals, Research Institute For General Plastic,
Hand & Trauma Kilpauk, Chennai. More than a hundred and fifty students donated blood
enthusiastically. The following clippings exhibit the social responsibility of our students.

REFRESHER PROGRAMME
A Refresher Course has been organized at the Seminar Hall in the Main Block of RMKCET
during 17th and 18th December 2013. Principal, Vice Principal, All the Heads of
Departments, Professors of various Departments, Coordinators of various portfolios and the
Administrative Officer of the college gave Special Lectures for the benefit of all the faculty
members.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL
In the present scenario, getting employment is highly competitive and challenging. For a few
vacancies thousands of candidates are in the fray. This could be overcome by becoming an
entrepreneur. In this regard, R.M.K. College of Engineering and Technology has organized a
One Day Awareness Programme for the final and pre-final year Engineering students on
13.09.2013. Dr. R. Jayaraman, Member Secretary, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development
(Tamil Nadu) was the Chief Guest of the occasion. He interacted with the students of the college.

We are an ISO 9001:2008 certified Institution, certified by TUV. A recertification Audit was
conducted by TUV on 22nd
and 23rd
of August 2013. All the processes were audited. No non
conformities were noticed. After two days of rigorous auditing they recommended our Institution
for recertification. The Principal, Vice Principal, Management Representative, HODs and the
internal auditors attended the closing meeting.
