The variety belongs to the Black Sea basin ecological-geographic group. The best place to produce Kakhuri amber traditional Georgian wines is considered the territory from Anaga to Bakurtsikhe in Gurjaani district. The coppice and groves within the territory allows to make exceptionally interesting and deep wines. This wine is made in earthen vessels “Qvevri” in full accordance with ancient Georgian traditions. After being handpicked the grapes are pressed softly to keep seeds and stems undamaged. Fermentation takes place in the impeccably clean Qvevri with grape skins and stems. After fermentation the wine was aged for 6 months in Qvevri. Fascinating, bright wine has a marvelous flavor, where notes of dried herbs, honey, walnut and light shades of mushrooms are harmoniously interwoven. Can be perfect for Georgian cuisine.
