It’s the hype of the Season! Four years ago, Almabani was introduced to social media through Facebook.com, which is considered the parent platform for such technologies and trends. The social media has had an enormous influence on our everyday lives. We use it to get the latest news converse with like-minded individuals, and even to find travel recommendations. And it doesn’t stop there. It is certainly no surprise to me, as a social media professional, that such a phenomenon has begun, with the popularity of sites such as Twitter and Instagram are skyrocketing in the last year alone. We are now a society, which shares more and more what we do at every point of our lives with strangers, and nor are we afraid to admit that we may have had a little nip or tuck here and there.

While I am not adverse to introduce social media for you as a platform, I would like to share with you the huge awareness Almabani is getting on Facebook through its official page www.facebook.com/almabani.co, recently we have introduced our new main stream media exposure named "Reporting from Site" and posting this aforementioned media on our official website (www.almabani.co) as well as sharing them on our official social media page. In its quest to promote involvement of the residents of Riyadh in their first of its kind project, the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh invited a group of King Fahad neighborhood residents, the German ambassador, and a delegation from the US embassy to celebrate Thaqba TBM arrival to the first station of Riyadh Metro Blue Line after completing a 1.3-km tunnel.

The Blue Line is 38 kilometers long with four TBMs (Manifah, Thaqba, Samilah, and Thirbah) working on its four sections. During the visit, the invitees watched the modern technologies and multiple functions of the giant TBM (Thaqba), which causes no vibration or noise to the surface while boring the tunnel and lining it with precast concrete segmental linings.

Interviewed by: John EL Khoury

John El Khoury: First, I would like to thank you for giving us the time to conduct this interview

with your good self. At the beginning, please introduce yourself, going over your academic

background and your professional journey.

Bandar Hassanain: You are most welcome, and thank you for hosting me as a guest for this issue, as

for my academic qualification, I have obtained Business Administration from King Adbdulaziz University,

Jeddah in 2009, and I have also obtained bachelor in Civil Engineering in 2001. After graduation, I

have aimed to find a job in the private sector, and actually I have joined an operation and maintenance

company in Jeddah Islamic port and it was not a successful trial as few months after joining this job, I

have availed an opportunity to join the Ministry of Water and Electricity in Jeddah where I have worked

in the Ministry's branch up to end of 2005. This period is considered the first turning point in my

professional career as I shifted among several departments in the Ministry, a matter which made me

aware of the many governmental procedures and regulations applied in the government projects, and

consequently qualified me to be director and supervisor for several projects of high value contracts.

However and despite my failure in the first trial in the private sector, I was still interested to repeat

the trial with the private sector especially in the field of contracting as it is full of challenges that will

add me new experience and knowledge that will enrich my professional career, and actually, I have

joined Dallah Group of Companies, by then the first task assigned to me is to manage several water

and sanitary projects in Riyadh where I was in charge of overcoming any impediments that stand

between execution of the projects, and after completion of this task, I was assigned by Dallah Group

to its authorized representative for the management of the Main Branch, Sewage Networks in South

and West of Jeddah, Stage 2, and I was assigned as Project Manager Assistant, and that Dallah

was a partner in the consortium (joint venture) led by Almabani General Contractors. This was the

second turning point in my professional career as I consider myself got matured professionally in this

project thanks to the challenges and difficulties encountered in the project management, and that we

have managed to overcome these challenges through the continued collaboration among the project

management members despite the diversity of the nationalities, cultural and intellectual attitudes at the

consortium level or executive body in charge of the project, and I think that we have invested in this

diversity positively and creatively. In November 2011, Dallah company has withdrew from the Sanitary

Project, and consequently, I had to leave work in the project and re-join any other Dallah' subsidiary

but it was a personal challenge and professional commitment towards the project which dictated me

to tender my apology to Dallah and expressed my wish to resume work with my colleagues in the

project management due to the challenges we have encountered at that time, and I have continued to

carry on my duties and responsibilities in the project under Almabani General Contractors. In November

2013, Almabani's top management have placed extended great confidence in me which I am proud

of where I have taken over the project management and again the top management reinforced its trust

by appointing me as Business Development Manager for the company.

JK: Recently, being assigned as a Business Development Manager, what can you tell us about

your new position and the duties it beholds?

BH: The new assignment as Business Development Manager is a big challenge specially in the current

economic conditions undergone by the region in view of the sharp drop in oil prices, and as you know

most of the employers for our completed or current projects are government clients, but generally and

briefly, we are going to translate the strategic vision of the top management to maintain the company's

competitive position through developing business models whether in terms of the support activities

or primary activities taking into account the factors which affect the competitiveness of the business

model whether at present or in future. In addition to reinforcing our business relation with the current

employers of ministries and governmental bodies with whom we maintain business relations and also

open new business opportunities with other governmental bodies especially those whose projects

are ranked as government project priorities, and also to work for expanding another activities such

as operation and maintenance contracting as many development projects have been carried the last

decade and at present they are required to execute operation and maintenance contracts, and also

to expand in the power generation projects, and lastly to avail new business opportunities with non-

governmental bodies (private sector).

JK: Tell us about a project or accomplishment that you consider being the most significant in

your career.

BH: The project of the Main Branch, Sewage Networks in South and West of Jeddah, Stage 2 is

one of the most challenges which I have experienced so far due to the considerable difficulties,

impediments and challenges encountered in this project and we have managed to overcome thanks

to the combined efforts and firm diligence of the project work team, on the contractual and legal

obstacles and impediments, we have overcome them where we have maintained our contractual

and legal principles according to the applicable rules and regulations in Saudi Arabia, a matter which

allowed us to terminate the contract with the employer through the legal judicial proceedings, as for

the obstacles and challenges encountered in the course of implementing the project, they were very

numerous especially we were working in almost half of the populated area of Jeddah. You might

imagine how much the difficulties encountered through coordination with several bodies to obtain the

required permits for work and that we were avoiding as much as possible detouring the routes of the

existing utilities which contradicts with the execution of the sanitary lines along 600 KMs, in addition

to the technical complexities encountered in the main tunnel line 3000mm diameter, which extends

from Alkhumra area South Jeddah along 15kms and 32m. deep, but we have successfully managed

to overcome all these obstacles, completed and handed over the project. It is worthy to mention the

main tunnel line 3000mm diameter has been nominated two years ago by well-known construction

periodic publication (magazines) to be the Project of the Year within the infra-structure projects on a

regional level.

JK: How do you assess the structural reorganisation that has been witnessed lately in Almabani?

BH: Developing and adding fresh qualified cadres to the company's business structure is a positive

token to improve the work efficiency and continue to improve it to become more competitive to

be in line with the new variable and fierce competition in the contracting market, and among the

matters which distinguished Almabani throughout the last decades is the clear strategic vision of the

top management on the flexibility of the business models as it has managed to expand its activities at

the economic prosperity times and plentiful availability of the projects and to maintain also its position

at the economic crisis times without deviation from the company's firm and core business principles.

JK: If we want to tackle the present-day situation within the Saudi Arabian construction market,

what are the strategies being devised to face those current challenges.

BH: The overall image is still dim to me, but I am optimistic with the new economic model which is

being adopted by the government, which is called transformation plan as it is forecasted to be very

feasible and vital for the private sector through the partnership project among the public , private ,

partnership/PPP, therefore, we have to deal with the new challenges through developing business

models whether in terms of the support activities or primary activities to be more competitive and

compatible to the business nature of the new economic model, but for dealing with the present

position, the company is working at present on a diversity strategy, while the company is seeking to

enhance and reinforce the business relation with the current employers of ministries and governmental

bodies with whom we maintain business relations and also open new business opportunities with other

governmental bodies especially those whose projects are ranked as government project priorities , and

also to work for expanding another activities such as operation and maintenance contracts, and also to

avail new business opportunities with semi-governmental bodies in addition to participating in projects

with other overseas bodies.

JK: In your opinion, how we can maintain the general image of Almabani in the near future?

BH: Thanks to the excellence performance and vast reputation in the contracting field, Almabani has

built its brand name over the last decades and made it be demanded by the name to undertake very

prestigious projects due to its perfect commitment of its top management to perform its contractual

obligations as scheduled without any default towards its clients, represented in the their full satisfaction

and their continued interest to retain Almabani’s services, or even the company’s staff whom the

company has availed them family work environment within, and hence the human component has

become one of the most competitive advantages for the company in the contracting market. Of

course to maintain this valued asset, there are two important points, first: to keep maintaining the

company’s brand identity image, second: to develop the public relations plans in a line compatible with

the challenges and variables in the contracting market so as to reflect its efficiency through opening

new business activities.

JK: Has the company made any recent changes to improve its business practices and profitability?

BH: Of course, you have mentioned in one of your previous questions that the company has conducted

several steps for re-structuring, a matter which had positive impact to raise the company's efficiency

and costs, in addition the company has established and developed its internal bylaws, policies and

procedures saving in turn time, effort and cost, in addition to continue to develop the professional safety

procedures inside the company in a way to reduce the operational risks. Finally we have managed

to establish plans and procedures for professional development of the company's employees.

Nevertheless, it is still required to continue development and improvement for the information systems

in a way that will enable us to maintain the accumulated wealth of knowledge, work practices, and share

information among all the company's components.

JK: In what areas do you see the company expanding? Do you foresee the opening of new

markets? Do you predict development of new services?

BH: In my opinion, at the local level, the private sector projects will be attractive in the forthcoming

period, while the company's activities that may be developed and expanded are operation and

maintenance, and power generation that will be highly demanded in the forthcoming period.

JK: At the end of this interview is there anything that you would like to add?

BH: I would like to express my appreciation to the Chairman of Almabani H.E. Mr Nehmé Tohmé for his

continued fruitful directives and his permanent and unlimited support that arise from his noble character

and his personal interest to provide all the required support and backup to retain success of the Saudi

nationals within the company, also I would like also to extend my appreciation to the Vice Chairman

thanks goes to everyone who have supported me in my professional career, I mention here Mr. Pierre

team in the Sanitary Project.

Last but not least, I am fully confident that the company, thanks to its top management and its excellent

staff and combined efforts will manage to overcome any difficulty as witnessed by its successful history.

TRAINING HANGAR

At the beginning of November 2015, we handed over the “Training Hangar Project” and the client was very satisfied by the quality of our work.

Through our performance in the “Training Hangar” and the “Academic Building”, Almabani distinguished itself from all other contractors in the Airbase and became a true example for quality and professionalism.

In the Academic Building, we started the finishing work. In parallel, we are building an underground water tank for potable water and for firefighting system. In addition, we are building sewage manholes around the building.

We added structural and architectural works to the building with value of 15% of the project amount after the approval of the client. Currently we intend to submit a list of additional non-contractual items that are essential for the building to be used. This list includes the landscape around the building and the four areas under the skylights.

Those additional works has lead our client to give us six months extension on the duration of the project. This extension was submitted to the RSAF head office in Riyadh.

The new date for delivering the project will be mid October 2016.

The workflow in the finishing works, electrical and mechanical in addition to the skylight is ongoing according to schedule.

The building is equipped with underground tanks for potable water and firefighting system. These tanks are connected to the water network inside the Airbase. The water is pumped to the building by pumps with a capacity of 500 gallons per minute. For potable water, we installed a tank in the pump room connected to the potable water network inside the Airbase. It pumps to 12 coolers distributed inside the building.

The whole building in addition to the 4 areas below the skylights are fully air conditioned by package units system.

All air conditioning units are environment friendly and equipped with sound attenuating system to give maximum comfort for the students during studying.

Almabani Electrical DepartmentAn Insight Interview with Mr. Sami Beiruti, Electrical Department Manager

- Jeddah -

22The Almabani Journal . Issue No. 14 . February, March, April 2016

John El Khoury: Thank you Mr. Beiruti for this interview, kindly we ask you to introduce yourself to the readers.Sami Beiruti: I graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Aleppo University with a degree of

Electrical Engineering in 1974. I started my professional career in Syria working for the private sector mainly

hospitals, public buildings and power distribution networks for a period of nine years. During three out of

these nine years, I had my own contracting office in which I successfully completed 6 projects with the

Syrian Electrical Company in Aleppo.

I then moved to Saudi Arabia to pursue a new career from 1983 to present. I joined few companies mainly

Aracan, for a year, Nesre Al Jazirah for 15 years, Al Sharqawi for 2 years, and currently with Almabani. I

was employed by Almabani on the 1st of February in 2001, and since then I am in charge of the Electrical

Department.

I have completed over 42 years in the electrical field of work and I am proud of my extended experience

which can be summarized in a wide variety of projects including hospitals and rehabilitation centers,

public buildings, high ranking hotels, power distribution networks, power plants and substations, mega

infrastructure and utilities buildings, refineries and industrial complexes, highways, bridges and tunnels, and

finally airports projects which are the crown of my professional career.

JK: Would you please give us an overview about the Almabani Electrical Department, starting from its early days.SB: Although I joined Almabani in 2001 but luckily I was in contact with Almabani through my previous

company Nesre Al Jazirah, as a subcontractor for most of the airports projects constructed by Almabani,

where I realized the high reputation of Almabani in the construction field of work. Words cannot describe

Almabani's early days, other than saying they executed a huge volume of projects. The type of projects,

ALMABANI MEDIA DEPARTMENT SAT DOWN WITH MR. SAMI BEIRUTI, WHO SHARED WITH US HIS VAST EXPERIENCES, THE VARIOUS PROJECTS HE DEVELOPED AND THE BIRTH OF THE ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT AT ALMABANI.

Almabani were involved in and constructed during those days, where Almabani was one of the most known

classified contractors in these special projects, gives you a bright image of the company's profile and

achievements.

Almabani since then is expanding. The Electrical Department followed the boom pace with the company

and followed it's progressive development covering all electrical aspects of the general contracting; thus

ensuring that all electrical works are 100% completed while being executed by our qualified electrical

resources.

In this occasion it is worth mentioning that Almabani is registered and classified as "Class I" in the electrical

works. The Electrical Department today has more than 350 manpower, out of which more than 25 are

engineers. In addition, we have labor from all professions (qualified skilled supervisors, foremen, electricians,

and semi skilled electricians) distributed over most of our projects in Saudi Arabia. The number of manpower

was kept flexible in increment in order to cope with any future projects requirement.

Our professional capabilities and experience cover a wide variety of electrical works such as, but not limited

to, high and medium voltage, power and distribution plants, mega construction projects, low current and

extra low voltage systems, special control systems (such as BMS, SCADA & Power Management Systems),

traffic management systems, fuel control system, communication and IT infrastructure networks, lighting

and special lighting systems with Hi-Tec control systems, industrial projects & Aramco specialties works, and

in addition to that our special profession in the airports projects (Landside and Airside works). The Landside

facilities are the terminal buildings, the utilities, and the services buildings (such as Maintenance, Gargo,

Fire Stations, Security Buildings, Communications Facilities). The Airside facilities are the runways, taxiways,

aprons, vault rooms, and ATC towers (with all relevant systems AGL, ALCMS, ICMS, ASMGCS), VDGS,

aprons lighting, apron special services, fuel network electrical requirement, meteo, NAVAIDS Systems,

and control systems. Our engineers are well educated and fully experienced in the applicable international

standards mainly SASO, IEC, BS, ANSI, LEED, IES, FAA, ICAO, and NEMA.

Almabani Electrical DepartmentAn Insight Interview with Mr. Sami Beiruti, Electrical Department Manager

24The Almabani Journal . Issue No. 14 . February, March, April 2016

JK: What are the projects that are currently being handled by your department?SB: The Electrical Department is in principle handling all the electrical works in Almabani's on-going projects,

through the electrical teams assigned for each project which are directly managed by the project manager.

The Electrical Department acts like the deposit bank of the electrical man force and special equipment to

support the projects’ electrical works.

The relevant current running projects are:

Airports 1- KAIA 2,Jeddah: mainly AGL CAT III, ALCMS, ICMS, Aprons Floodlighting System, Fuel power and Control

JK: Tell us about the department’s crown jewel project.SB: The Electrical Department's crown project jewel is KAIA (King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah,

KSA) project. This project was professionally handled by Almabani team, especially our electrical team,

throughout all of its phases; from the estimation phase to the contribution in the design and then the

construction phase. It is worth mentioning here that this was the first mega project awarded to Almabani.

The project's contract value was more than 1 Billion SR, out of which almost 40% were electrical works,

that covered all of the design and build works.

KAIA was a challenging project for the company, the site team, and specifically our electrical department.

The Airfield Lighting Works of KAIA, one of the busiest airports in the Middle East because of Hajj, Omra,

and seasonal vacations, were being upgraded without hampering aircraft traffic. The specific electrical works

in this project (MV Network, Fiber Optic Network, Control Systems, Fuel Control Systems, Substations,

Generators, AFL System, Apron Floodlights, ILS, and Apron Services) were being executed while keeping

the airport operational. The AFL system installed incorporated a modern system with the latest technologies

in the market. In addition, Almabani participated in the design work of the project. Almabani successfully

executed in this project the first CAT 3 Runway, as per ICAO/FAA regulations, in the Middle East, in addition

to other CAT 1 and CAT 2 Runways in the project.

As a result of hard work and dedication, the project, including all phases, was successfully completed timely

without any delays and most importantly with no major incidents. Almabani electrical team gained a lot of

experience in this project, especially in the special systems field. Therefore, this raised our classification

degree for electrical works from class IV to class I. We, as Electrical Department, are proud of participating

in this project, and once again we were able to preserve Almabani's high reputation in the construction field

and special systems. Almabani's impeccable performance in KAIA project and its dedication to perfection

were two of the major reasons that led to Almabani being awarded the complete Airfield Lighting package

as a subcontractor to Saudi Bin Ladin Group, in addition to other electrical packages, as per GACA

recommendations.

26The Almabani Journal . Issue No. 14 . February, March, April 2016

JK: Discuss what major challenges you are facing currently, whether on corporate or projects level.SB: It is well known to everybody that the contracting business in the region falls within a grey area that we

are all passing through. This is the vital challenge we are facing today.

The Electrical Department, with the flexibility we have, is planning to efficiently restructure the workforce

without affecting the quality and productivity, in order to cope with the volume of works impacted by the

crisis of this period, and be ready for any potential projects in the near future.

I believe that with the gained extended experience, along the past decades of hard working, where similar

intervals took place, Almabani will insistently overpass this situation as previously managed.

We are confident in the measures, actions, and strategic plans being taken by the company's management

ruled by the wisdom of the Chairman H.E. Mr. Nehmé Tohmé, the Vice Chairman, and our CEO.

JK: Any achievements that you would like to discuss?SB: Almabani has succeeded to secure a great reputation in the field of airports construction in Saudi

Arabia and throughout the Middle East region; this is considered a major achievement in the construction

field. In the light of that, our team in general gained a lot of experience in this field especially our Electrical

Department labor force that possesses a vast knowledge in the various airports systems, which is another

achievement. Currently, Almabani Electrical Department is capable of participating in the design of any

system in an airport project or else. Moreover, Almabani Electrical Department has the power and all the

potentials to execute an airport project from A to Z; design, design review and shop drawings, calculations,

construction, testing and commissioning, operations and maintenance. We are one of the pioneers in the

design and build of Airport Projects in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region. All of the above achievements

would have been impossible if it was not to the dedication, loyalty, and hard-work of Almabani's family and

our Electrical Department.

JK: What would you like to convey to the Journal readers as a closing note?SB: As a closing note, I would like to relay the message to our engineers, supervisors, and labors; that we

shall keep on working hard for the success of Almabani, keep our momentum even more stringent than it

was, act positively, and stay loyal to the Almabani Family.

I am proud to have spent my last 15 years in Almabani, and I will take this opportunity to extend my thanks

to our CEO Mr. Joseph Daher for the long lasting backup and the support he have given to me, and our

department as well.

At the end, the Electrical Department team extends their gratitude to the Chairman H.E. Mr. Tohmé, The

Vice Chairman, CEO, CFO, and EVP’s, while wishing Almabani endless success and a prosperous future.

Riyadh's $22.5 bn Metro project on track: Governor

Dubai Investments Unit Seals Riyadh Metro Contract

Dubai Investments (DI), a leading, diversified investments conglomerate listed on the Dubai Financial Market, said one of its subsidiaries, Emirates Building Systems has been awarded a contract to provide steel structures for the second phase of the Riyadh Metro Project. The metro contract is part of the Dh51 million ($13.8 million) projects won by Emirates Building Systems across Saudi Arabia and Oman, as demand for steel structures increases amidst infrastructure developments in the GCC countries. The DI unit has also won a new contract for Petrofac in the Khazzan gas project in Oman. With the new projects, the company is expecting a strong performance this year, to build on its 2015 sales revenue of over Dh200 million ($54.4 million).A part of Dubai Investments Industries and a regional pioneer in the design, fabrication and construction of steel structures and building solutions, the Emirates Building Systems has also announced a strong focus in Africa, particularly in Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia and Tanzania. It is currently conducting feasibility studies on several projects, given the escalating demand for steel structures for infrastructure and commercial projects as well as the oil and gas sector in the continent.

$22.5 billion urban rail and bus system for the congested Saudi Arabian capital is on track, the city's governor said on May 4, as other projects in the kingdom are delayed."No, no, it's OK," Prince Faisal bin Bandar told reporters."The project is going very well" and according to plan, he said on the sidelines of a ceremony to mark the end of digging part of the underground railway tunnel.Construction on the Riyadh Metro began in late 2013 and is targeted for completion by the end of 2018, much more quickly than similar projects in other countries. It is the biggest infrastructure project in the history of the Saudi capital. Work on the Metro intensified just before the oil revenues on which Saudi Arabia depends began to drop sharply. The collapse in global crude prices by more than half since mid-2014 left the world's biggest oil producer with a record budget deficit last year and a projected shortfall of $87 billion this year. As a result, the government imposed unprecedented subsidy cuts on fuel, electricity and water. It delayed some major projects and held up receipts to contractors.Last week, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman released the wide-ranging Vision 2030 plan to diversify the economy away from oil.

Samir Akra, the general manager of Emirates Building Systems, said: "Over the years, we have set an unparalleled track record across the wider Gulf and the rampant construction - be it the infrastructure projects such as the public transport system in Saudi Arabia or the oil and gas sector in Oman and Kuwait - is leading to pent-up demand for steel structures.""Our company is well-positioned to cater to this increase in market demand," he added.[...]Related link: http://www.tradearabia.com/news/IND_305988.html

It calls for "high quality" public transport to help improve the quality of urban life.Three foreign consortiums are building the Metro, with France's Alstom, Canada's Bombardier and Germany's Siemens among the major participants. The Metro's six lines will cover 176 kilometres (109 miles), supported by a bus network of 1,150 kilometres. About 40 percent of the system will be underground.Work on the above-ground elevated railway is noticeable throughout the sprawling city of 5.7 million, where concrete supports and railway platforms are going up, forcing motorists into constant detours.

Saudi Arabia's Post-Oil Transition to 'Vision 2030'

Saudi Arabia Forges Ahead with 442$bn Construction Projects

Saudi Arabia’s projects market in 2016 boasts $500 billion worth of schemes in the pre-execution phase spanning the power and water, transport, hydrocarbons and construction sectors, said a report.Under the ambitious reform agenda being driven by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, within its recently announced Vision 2030 framework, Saudi Arabia is seeking to drive the non-oil economy and stimulate private investment in state activities, reported Arab News, citing a study by Meed, a leading source of Middle East business intelligence. The report, titled "Saudi Arabia Strategies 2016: Adapting to a new economic reality" provides detailed news and analysis of the kingdom’s plans to deliver these projects and also examines how its recently-revealed Vision 2030 strategy will change the business landscape in the country. In its Vision 2030 strategy, Riyadh has set itself the target of increasing the private sector’s contribution to GDP from 40 per cent today to 65 per cent by 2030, and growing non-oil government revenues from SR163 billion ($43 billion) to SR1 trillion ($267 billion) by the end of the next decade. The latest market report on Saudi Arabia by Meed identifies new and emerging opportunities for investors and companies in the region’s biggest market.

John Sfakianakis, former economic advisor to Saudi Arabia, discusses the "Saudi Vision 2030" plan and the challenge to completely transform the nation's economy. He speaks on "Bloomberg Markets." (Source: Bloomberg)

It also highlights the challenges that companies need to be aware of as the kingdom forges ahead with its economic development plan for the next 14 years.According to the report, construction is the largest sector with a pipeline worth $442 billion, followed transport with $228 billion and power with $170 billion in the pipeline."Construction and transport have traditionally been the largest sectors in the Saudi Arabia, awarding $155 billion and $98 billion of major contracts respectively between 2006 and 2015. Nearly $89 billion of power contracts were awarded over the period," stated Richard Thompson, the editorial director at Meed.
