At Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, our core belief is that only by striving to understand each client’s individual requirements can we respond effectively, helping to manage and reduce risk.

The key to achieving this is to engage and work with our clients at the point of operations – in the field where the risk is “live”. Only by taking a hands-on, collaborative approach can a true and clear perspective of each client’s situation be obtained.

Our Risk Consulting team is at the forefront of this approach, assisting clients in the management, mitigation and control of risks that may jeopardise the success of their business operations. This team of highly experienced consultants, with operational expertise across a wide spectrum of industrial and commercial sectors, focus on providing tailor-made evalutions of risk. This is only possible by fully understanding our client’s operations – thereby enabling us to provide customer specific risk responses.

All our Consultants operate as part of the global Allianz Risk Consultants Network which coordinates the activities of specialists in more than 70 countries worldwide. This extensive network of Consultants enables the use of flexible local solutions and offers extensive possibilities for benchmarking locations within a global programme.

Our approach in practice

We provide a range of risk management tools from basic hazard reporting through to in-depth analysis of industrial operations and financial exposures. To deliver this approach, we work in partnership with our clients to ensure that the level of reporting fulfils their exact needs.

In all areas of our operations, Allianz Risk Consultants utilise an account engineering principle whereby each client is provided with a single point of contact ensuring a consistent and co-ordinated delivery of the global risk management programme.

During a Risk Analysis visit, our Risk Consultants will interview site management and any nominated risk management personnel. A comprehensive site tour will be undertaken and the visit completed with a ‘Close-Out’ meeting. At this meeting the observations are discussed and any risk improvement proposals offered to the client for consideration and action.

The client will subsequently receive a comprehensive report including confirmation of the risk improvement proposals. These recommendations are based on current best practice and are designed to assist in minimising exposure.

The benefit to the client is one point of contact for all engineering matters. The engineers form part of the account team working with the Key Account Managers and Underwriters. Account Engineers work closely with clients to help design a programme and reporting protocols including:

– Initial meeting to agree program and format– Regular client contact to update progress – Annual client stewardship meeting to discuss

recommendations and general findings
