Install and make good Flo Plast soffit and facia board around window reveals. Board is to be cut and stuck using adhesive and all gaps made good with mastic. Operatives must make all cuts within communal areas in order to keep the property clean and free of dust. Ensure rooms are well ventilated when applying adhesive to prevent risk of inhalation. Areas worked in must be left clean.

Site Access
Site access Via the main entrance to the site. Operatives must ensure they sign in and out when entering or leaving the site.
Operatives will be required to enter occupied properties to carry out works. All cutting of plastic will be done in a cordoned off area within the Communals. ]
Working hours 8am-4pm
Deliveries I Storage I Waste
Deliveries to be Via the Rydon TMP.
Storage of materials will be outside of resident's property, only required materials to be taken into property.
Waste will be brought down and put into general waste skips on site. All waste should be bagged neatly and kept in a safe location as not to cause a trip hazard. Operative must bring waste down at the end of each shift.
Welfare Provision
Rydon to supply welfare, Canteen, Toilets and Drying Room Facilities.

Operatives must be aware of moving vehicles such as Delivery lorries/vans that may be present on site, Operatives on site must

any vehicle has acknowledged them before crossing a walkway of walking around a
vehicle.
Operatives are to take extra caution when working in communal areas. Operatives must ensure they protect the work area to prevent
any damage to resident's property. Where floor protection is laid it must be taped down securely around the perimeter and then be
taken up at the end of each day to prevent a trip hazard to the public. Where necessary
cordon areas off to stop residents accessing dangerous areas. SOP/Operatives must ensure
that signage is in place to make residents

adhesive to prevent inhalation.

Operatives must be aware of their lifting capabilities. Where possible materials are to be moved as close as possible to the work area by via a forklift or other aided means.
Personal injury from Manual Handling of Large, heavy or awkward loads should always
be handled by two or more people. Before materials, plant and equipment Manual 3 4 12 moving a load operatives must ensure that the

In the case of coming into contact with hazardous substances and dust operatives
must be wearing the correct PPE. For handling hazardous substances and working with dust it

Substances 3 4 12 dust masks, for high levels of dust and fumes Low FFP3 must be worn. Before using a substance, operatives must have read and understood the
COSHH risk assessments appropriate to the materials they are using. Where appropriate
dust collection bags or extraction is to be used in the form of a vacuum.
Operatives and SDP have a duty to ensure that the correct tools are being used for the
job. Operatives must ensure that any equipment is appropriate for the job and in

Operatives must be aware when using laser equipment. Lasers must never be looked into or shone in people's eyes. Lasers should not

protection to avoid plastic dust/debris from getting into eyes.
Cables must be trailed above head height with the use of cable hooks and cable ties. If for

door ways. Operatives must assess the area and route cables in the safest way possible as
not to cause a tripping hazard.
Operatives are responsible for their own mess and must tidy as they work to minimise risk of
debris causing a trip hazard. Bins will be supplied around site. When working within
communal areas Materials and tools are to be stored in a safe position within work area and Low
Slips, Trips and Falls 3 4 12 then taken down at the end of each shift and put into bins, do not leave any tools or
materials unattended in communal areas where appropriate cordon off from public. Any tools not required should be kept in the SDP store area. Any Spillages must be cleaned up immediately. Operative to be aware of wet, windy and icy weather conditions When on
site.

SDP & Operatives must monitor the usage of noisy or vibrating tools. The correct PPE must be worn at all times where excessive Noise is

All tools and cables are to be regularly PAT when used on site to avoid the risk of faulty
electrical equipment. Property will not be live at the time of fixing, although in some

permitted on site.
Site canteens and welfare facilities will be provided by main contractor, Operative are only permitted to eat in the canteen and not in

Safe System of Work
Operatives are to check all routes and access is clear before Lifting or moving materials, any potential hazards should be moved or highlighted to a supervisor.
Before lifting a heavy load, operatives should bend their knees, keep a straight back and lift with their legs to avoid injury to their back.
Operatives are to work from Hop ups, or Micro towers to gain access to out of reach areas.
Operatives must only lift to their capabilities, where there are two people working within an area they are to lift heavy loads together.
Operatives must tidy their work area as they go
Keep all cables routed above head height where possible, if cables have to be routed on the floor do not cross walk ways.
Where appropriate, use tools with collection bags
All Plastic soffit material should be cut in the communal areas and not in the resident's property.
Where appropriate open windows to ensure suitable ventilation when applying adhesive.
Operatives must ensure they are courteous to all residents living in the flats.
Keep noise to a minimum and keep work areas clean and tidy.
Signage must be put in place to warn the public that there are works being undertaken.
If works are likely to cause a mess Operatives must ensure that if floor protection is laid it is securely taped down around the perimeter and that it is taken up before leaving at the end of each day.
Communal areas must be kept clean at all times, do not leave tool and materials lying around, keep everything in a safe place out of the way of residents.
Take all rubbish down and put into bins at the end of each shift
Communals to be cleaned at the end of each day, ensure signage is put in place where floors are wet.
Nothing should be left in communal areas once operatives are finished in that area.
Operatives must ensure that the resident's property is left clean once finished.

Training Requirements
Operatives to have a Minimum of a CSCS qualification.
PASMA Training to be in place where the use of Towers is required. Self-erecting micro towers do not require any training
Personal Protective Equipment
At all times, high visibility vest, Steel toe cap boots, Hard hat, and gloves must be worn. When working with hazardous substances or dust, respiratory equipment/masks must be worn. When working with noise, ear defenders to be worn. Where risk of injury to eyes such as cutting or dust particles, eye protection to be worn.

Protection of Public
Warning signs are to be put in place where operatives working in communal areas, areas also to be cordoned off where appropriate. Windows to be opened when apply adhesive to ensure suitable ventilation.
TMP for Deliveries.
Monitoring and Inspection
Operative will be monitored daily by an onsite supervisor or working foreman.
Regular site inspections to ensure;
Site safety inductions completed Pat testing is up to date Access Equipment is safe and Tagged
Emergency Arrangements
Rydon First aiders to be on site at all times. It is also likely that an SDP first aider will be onsite the majority of the time as well.
Operatives to sign in and out when entering and leaving site.
If the fire alarm sounds, operatives are to evacuate immediately to the fire assembly point, put in place by Rydon.
