Risk Assessment

Page 2: Risk assessment

What’s it for?

• A risk assessment is used to make sure that all possible risks are thought about and are reduced

• Things we have to think about are: What the hazard is? What the risk is? How we can reduce this risk.

Page 3: Risk assessment

Hazard Risk How to prevent it.Branches, trees, twigs Actors falling over, tripping up. Clear any loose branches and anything that

might injure that actors without giving the impact that the path has been tampered with.

Bad weather Wet surfaces making people slide over. Muddy tracks making it hard to walk through.Equipment being damaged.

Check any slippery surfaces before hand. Bring umbrellas to protect equipment if it rains.

Make-up Actors being allergic to the make-up

Do a tester on their hand or a small section of their skin

Leads/cords Someone tripping over them Make all people on the set aware of where the leads are and make sure they are out of the way.

Cold days/nights Actors standing around getting cold, possibly ill.

Tell cast members to bring warm clothing and coats with them.

Bright lights Lights blinding actors Make sure no one is staring directly into the lights.

The road People not realising how near to the road we are and then running in to it.

Make everyone aware of where the road is.

Positives

• The reasons we make a risk assessment is so that we can make sure that no one has the possibility of injuring themselves whilst on set.

• Also we can think of the possible risks before hand rather than on the day.
