My client is looking for a number of graduates with good numerate skills, keen eye for detail,
innovation and a long term career commitment with a growing, ambitious company.
They are offering an exciting career opportunity with full training, facilitating the prospect of
building the skills for a well paid international career path.
Currently they are working on the forefront of Deepwater (2000+m) and harsh environment
system design and our clients include BP, Shell, Conoco Phillips and Petrobras. At the end of a
period of training you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most fundamentally
challenging projects, using the latest computer aided engineering and optimisation techniques
to develop highly optimised design solutions.
Utilising Matlab, Mathcad, Solidworks NL, as well as in-house software and 3D dynamic
analysis packages such as OrcaFlex. They also have an active product design and test
programme for our Polyurethane products which are manufactured by the Dutch company
Lankhorst.
This is a small company who challenges young graduates and develops basic engineering
design skills which will assist them throughout their career. There will be a written technical
test as part of the interview which should be straightforward for anyone who has understood a
basic engineering degree course. We are also opening an office in Glasgow soon which may be
of more interest to graduates from the North West of Scotland since its only a few hoursaway. Initially the work will be based in Aberdeen. The company has an expanding office in
Houston Texas as well as Aberdeen.

RiserTec is an independent Engineering Consultancy specializing in Riser, Pipeline, Mooring
and Subsea Engineering. The Company was formed in 2003, has offices in Aberdeen, UK and

Riser & Mooring System Engineering
RiserTec's engineering consultancy specialises in riser and mooring systems. All riser types are
covered including drilling, workover / intervention, top tensioned production systems, SCRs,FSHRs and flexible pipe / umbilical systems. RiserTec also has extensive experience of coupled
riser / mooring system analysis and design. Typical activities include :- Riser system
engineering, Mooring system engineering, Metallic riser systems, Flexible riser systems, Vortex
Induced Vibration (VIV), Back analysis, Design model calibration against field data
RiserTec currently offers the following riser engineering courses:-a) Introduction to riser
system, b) Fundamentals of riser engineering. The first course considers the many
different types of riser system employed by fixed and floating offshore drilling,
workover and production facilities. The advantages and disadvantages of each system
are described together with key design considerations. The second course covers the
fundamentals of riser engineering as common to most riser systems. Each section of thecourse is accompanied by a live Mathcad worksheet, enable delegates to explore the
techniques covered in the lectures. These courses can be offered individually or together,
thus provided everything from a short 1/2 day overview to a detailed 4 day technical
course.
Mathcad Worksheet Library for Offshore Engineering Calculations
RiserTec developes and licences a wide range of Mathcad engineering worksheets. These sheets
solve general offshore engineering problems using a wide range of methods from simple
analytical solutions to FE beam numerical models. As well as providing a standard and qualified
solution to many problems, these worksheets enable the user to easily add his own pre- or post-
