DesignIn Riot, I will be going for a more simple design compared to the likes of modern magazines you can find in stores today. The Front cover, while still putting itself out there will not be advertising much other than the main band of the magazine which will be on the double page spread. The main aim of the front page will be to try and get a person in the shop to give the magazine a chance, and to stand out from the crowd instead of blending in with the other magazines. The skyline will be advertising various things for the magazine and I'll be trying to use quite a bit of colour to try and get across the message to the customer in a store that they want to at least look at the magazine, therefore to give it a chance at being purchased. Maybe a few articles will be advertised on the front page, however I've found that magazines really like to put out there to the audience information about their double page spread, therefore I will be doing the same and even on the contents page. The masthead, similar to many others on various magazines will be quite hidden on the front page, to make way for the main artists, usually tucked away behind their head. The skyline will be there as normal and there will be few other articles there. On the contents page there will be one person on the left of the page, with at the top in large stand out font and writing, an advertisement for the double page spread and its page number.

House StyleBecause of the urban, rebellious style of the Rock genre, my magazine will also feature these styles and stereotypes for the rock genre. An example could be the name itself, Riot as a rebellious term which as soon as you hear the word on a music magazine, you can easily assume that it is of the Rock genre, which is after all what I want. There is also the font of the headline of the magazine, the Riot font will have an urban and rock music feel to it with the texture and scrape marks and metallic like feel to it. The magazine's images will also feature guitars, amps and props which would suit the rock genre, and even the poses, body language and excretions by the models will fit in with the rock genre style.

Target AudienceMy target audience is the typical rock genre magazine audience. This would consist of teenagers, usually around 15 to 18 years old. Of course other people who generally enjoy rock music could be targeted by this magazine, but really I don't want to be using any words which are too formal. I'd want to really connect with the rock culture with the magazine in the way its images, themes, colours and language is set out. Anyone who is generally interested in rock music I think would enjoy this magazine.

Cover InformationThe Magazine would in my eyes cost around £1.20 as it is just starting out, and I couldn't really set it too high otherwise people would not want to buy it and would much rather buy a magazine they're used to

and know what they're going to get from it. If I was to increase the pricing of the magazine I'd say an extra £1 would be the maximum I would go since the average popular magazine goes for around no more than £2. I'd want my magazine to be a biweekly magazine since it isn't as much of a deal as a weekly magazine, though it's not a dreaded long and dragging wait for a monthly long one. Every other week should do just fine for my magazine.

Publishing HouseI think I would like my magazine to be published by Time Inc (UK). Yes, they are an American incorporation though they do in face branch out to the United Kingdom. They already produce a bundle of magazines, all of different genres, and all of which are relatively successful, therefore I'm sure my magazine would do well under them. They own many other companies which produce magazines and all kinds of media, and I think that this would be the right choice for my magazine.
