May 2020
Happy May! Hope all is well! Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of uncertainty. We are
continually striving to gain as much information and make the best decisions to help keep you and your families healthy and safe. We want to keep you informed of changes and how we will work together to navigate through
the next few weeks. Even with restrictions in place, we are still here, actively engaged, and committed to serving you and providing 4-H programs!
What You See and What We Are Asking: • All NMSU-CES agents and staff throughout the state are currently telecommuting with very limited
access to our Extension offices. This policy will remain in effect through close of business on May 15, 2020, unless otherwise announced.
• NMSU administration announced all in-person youth programs scheduled through August 8, would be cancelled, rescheduled, or provided virtually. We are currently working to understand how this decision
impacts our summer 4-H programs. • 4-H Grows Here! We are here to serve you and are developing virtual 4-H programs so you can
continue to learn from participation in 4-H experiences. You will notice an increase of online/telecommunication opportunities. Many programs, activities, camps, and meetings are being
moved to a virtual platform. Some examples include: NM 4-H Dog School, Ag Tech Camp, 4-H State Leadership Conference, and several Ranch Camp related video series. Stay tuned! We will be using
email, our County 4-H Website and social media pages to share future 4-H activities and opportunities. • As we continue to offer our regular operating business hours, please feel free to contact us. We ask
you and your 4-H family to email or call our office with your 4-H questions or concerns.
We will be holding an Open Question and Answer session via Zoom on Friday, May 8th from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. We will be open to hearing your questions and are asking for ideas to add to our virtual program
list. See “We are in this Together” for Zoom meeting information on the next page.
Our goal is to keep offering 4-H opportunities! We will continue to share regular updates. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions and concerns.
Stay well! Marcella
Happy Birthday! Bonnie, Anthony, Chastelyn, Colette, Aimar, Fabian, Elja, Logan, Marcosi,

Salsa making contest. All the Salsa looked super yummy. The Marez family has been working on arts and crafts, making
jewelry and Sam has been working with his Pigs. Ashley and Logan Tafoya have been working with their Goats. They also
