Welcome Message

We would like to welcome all the riders, competitors and spectators to the annual “Ride With Elegance” Werribee Pony Club Horse Trials for 2017.

This will be the 21st year of our Annual Event. Growing from 1 day in 1996 with 120 riders, to over 2 days and up to 500 riders from Grade 1-5!

Over the years, With Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre building an Indoor Arena at the venue, it allowed for the Club to extend the timetable for the event and create more room for more competitors. The Grade 1 Saturday night Showjumping is now a huge highlight at the event, allowing the riders to

ride in front of a supportive audience and under lights of WPNEC. We have seen many changes over the years in the Pony Club Eventing world and we have all had to adapt as event organiser to these changes, which is always a challenge! The Event also now has a large array of Trade Stands for some great

retail therapy, and an amazing group of Event Sponsors. We hope our competitors and families support our Sponsors and Trade Stands where possible,

as they are all so supportive. Thank you to Jess, Daniel & Ros from “Ride With Elegance” for again supporting the event. We are proud to have them as great event partners, and we cannot thank them enough for the beautiful rugs they supply to the winners of each section! Now currently in the 4th year of the event being renamed the “Ride

With Elegance” Werribee Pony Club Horse Trials, we hope this partnership continues well into the future.

Congratulations to Werribee Pony Club Member Chris Paton who won the Pony Club Australia Best achievement by a rider under 17 years. Chris is an outstanding PCV and PCA Mounted Games rider Pictured with his #1 supporter ~ mum Janet,& fellow Gisborne PC Rep Katrina ~who won the Club of the Year award!

Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre is a STRAW FREE VENUE. Saw dust and wood shavings are appropriate use for stable and yard bedding.

There will be several manure points for your convenience, and we ask that you please use them, as opposed to leaving manure in your yards. Please

respect the venue.

Pony Club Vic 2018 State Horse Trials, Grade 1&2 Pony Club Vic 2018 Interzone State Horse Trials, Grade 3 & 4

Presentation’s will be conducted throughout the day on the grass area next to the Portable EV office.

The class winners for each section are to bring their horses

for presentation, with all in their correct PCAV uniform.

Grade 1-5 Winners for each section will receive an embroidered trophy rug, sash, trophy.

& their Cross Country video from “RIDER VIDEO”

Dressage 1st – 3rd ~ must compete in all 3 phases to be eligible. Overall 2nd -6th place

Further prizes are subject to sponsorship of each section. Embroided rugs cannot be exchanged for other sizes. Prizes cannot be swapped or exchanged. Prizes

may be divided in the event of an equal place.

Riders wishing to have their Cards signed for the Horseland Pony Club Vic State Horse Trials or Interzone State Horse Trials can send post them to the Club to be signed by the Werribee PC DC. Please post, along with a SSAE for the card to be returned, to ATTN: WPC DC, Werribee Pony Club, PO Box 185, Werribee 3030. Please contact the Club to advise the card is on the way. Cards will be signed at the event by a CZ rep if available to do so.

Thanks to Seville Pony Club for doing all the Gear Checking again at this year’s event. Gear Check is located behind the 2nd Indoor Arena for all phases.

Due to the size of the event, we have asked Clubs to help in various areas of the event. Thank you to everyone who will be volunteering some time, as we are unable to run this event without you! The full list can be found on FB & Team APP.

1. This event is run under PCAV rules. All competitors must be conversant with these rules & entries will be

accepted with this understanding.

2. All Gear Check must be done within the allocated area located behind Indoor Arena 2.

3.The Ground Jury decision is final. Any protests must be in writing and presented by the DC or his/her

representative to the Event Secretary together with a $50 deposit that is only returned if the protest is upheld,

as per the PCAV Handbook of ByLaws.

3. Competitors may be required to ride at an earlier time than scheduled due to scratchings.

4. Membership Cards must be presented to prove eligibility & grading in accordance with the PCAV

Handbook of ByLaws.

5. First fall of the rider on the Cross County or Showjumping will result in Elimination. Once eliminated from

the Cross Country, resulting if a fall or 3 refusals at 1 jump or 4 over the entire course, the rider must

leave the Course at a walk. Failure to do so may then result in the rider being asked to leave by a Cross

Country Official. There will also be no “schooling”of horses over the Cross Country during, or upon

conculsion of the event.

6. Due to the size if the event, riders are required to wear the Werribee Pony Club Back Numbers for

all phases of the event. Hair must also be off the back number in the Cross Country Phase.

7. NO DOGS are to go past the cyclone fence in to the 2nd Cross Country paddock. This land is Werribee Park

Mansion, and no dogs allowed. ALL dogs are to be on a lead at all times.

8. Riders may be photographed during this event, and used for media & promotions

This year we are excited to have 2 Club Hi Point awards for the Ride with Elegance Werribee Pony Club Horse Trials!! The Graeme Thorpe Memorial Hi Point award sponsored by Fourlegs Equestrian Products and the Small Club Hi Point sponsored by Walking Forward Disaster Relief Team Inc. !! The Graeme Thorpe Memorial Hi Point is eligible to all Clubs that enter the event! The Walking Forward Disaster Relief Team Inc. SMALL CLUB HI POINT AWARD will be for clubs that have 9 OR LESS Riders place at the event! How does it work? All riders in each section receive points in their overall placed results. 1st=6 points, 2nd = 5, 3rd=4, 4th=3, 5=2 and 6th=1 point The points go towards the Club tally, & the Club with the most points is the winner! They receive a sash & trophy for the Club! In the case

of an equal, Best Dressage points will be added also.

Package 1 ~ Event Management Comprehensive

All paperwork would be handed over to the hose club on a predetermined Day (usually as close to the event as possible) to allow the Club to manage the

competition themselves. (Also for Package 2). Also creating and managing a draw, liaising with competitors, arranging judges,

ribbons, trophies, allocating helpers, etc.

Package 2 ~ Event Management Basic Taking entries, banking cheques, managing the draw, liaising with competitors.

Package 3 ~ Scoring

One person scoring for the event & completing relevant paperwork for the event.

Package 4 ~ Event Hosting Club uses Horsecomps.com.au to take their entries, and at the close of entries an

Excel file will all relevant data sent to the Club.
