Afternoon tasksThis week, I would like you to use your afternoons to start setting up some activities for you to have a go at over summer:

• https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/ - ‘Silly Squad’ is the new reading challenge for Summer 2020. The challenge will run until mid-September. Silly Squad is a celebration of funny books, happiness and laughter. Due to the current situation, the Summer Reading Challenge has been launched in an online format. Children are encouraged to read any books of their choice during the summer holiday and record these online, unlocking rewards as they reach their target. To take part, you can register children online in a secure two-step verification process.

• There are a range of summer craft activities to get stuck into – the instructions for these can be found on the class pages section. Remember to email Miss Ayers with any creations you make at [email protected].

• Year 5/6 spellings – Knowing the year 5 and 6 statutory spellings is a great thing to learn over summer. You will notice that over home learning, we have focused on learning these through a range of activities including speedy speller, correcting the spellings, crosswords and word searches. Spend time this week filling in the blanks on the 6 activity sheets (on the following slides) ensuring that you spell the words correctly.
