Dear Rotaractors,Season’s Greetings !

It is indeed a great pleasure to interact with youthrough this District Conference Special Edition ofDistrict News Letter.

District Conference is a very important event of every Rotaract Year.All the Rotaractors must make their best effort to attend this event.Till the time we get together on DA and DC Forums we will not beable justify our existence as active Rotaract Club.

This year has been very successful, in terms of District Administra-tion. I am very happy the way DRO has functioned. DRR Sagar andhis Team have set exemplary standards in terms of communication,sharing and training. Documentation and protocols are also main-tained very well. Participation in Rotasia was also a smile stone.

First time in District 3132, this year we will be having Elections forthe position of DRRN 2017-18. I feel this is very positive sign whichindicates potential leadership in our district. Winning or Losing aresides of the same coin; however contesting in best manner is what ismore important.

I have made my best effort to make the entire Election Processsmooth and transparent. DRO and Candidates have also supportedvery well. We have to set good standards in implementing the Elec-tions which will be helpful and beneficial to DRCC’s and DRO’s infuture.

Host Clubs and DRO have made their best efforts to put up this con-ference in best possible way. I wish them and all the Rotaractors ofRID 3132 All The Best. Enjoy the conference to the fullest and con-tinue doing best Rotaractivities in your Clubs.

First of all I would like to congratulate RaC Tech-plorers and RaC Jalna for conducting uniqueDistrict Conference. Rtr. Abhishek Mahajan andRtr. Pritesh Malpani have shown very positive approach tohost this Anubhuti 2016 and especially, I thank Rtr.Khushboo Brahmankar - Project Chairman of District Confer-ence for making this happen and setting a new bench mark.

Rotaract International District 3132 has witnessed Two IDYEteams, Three ICYE teams and active participation of DRRsfrom other Districts in this District Conference for the firsttime in history of RID 3132.

District Conference is a structured event where all the clubsparticipate with huge numbers to show their talent, to presenttheir club activities and for interacting with new Rotaractorsand friends. And I am very sure that the host clubs haveplanned this conference very well and everyone enjoyed a lotand they are taking lots of new memories with them.

“I am a slow walker, but I never walk back.”

This quote by Abraham Lincoln should inspireall Rotaractors to fight the war for developmentof self. One might take time to learn but there is nothing thatone cannot learn. Patience is the most useful weapon that oneneeds to be armed with if he desires to develop. Moreover it isnever too late to start. We should plan each day well to keepourselves motivated and well equipped to unlock our dreamsto success.

It is a great journey so far with the organization and at eachand every step and role I performed I got to learn number ofthings that helped me in personal and professional life as well.The journey that started with friendship growing to networkingand then managing and leading has turned the way of livinglife. Rotaract is something that differentiate me from other col-leagues who have failed to join it. On the Rotaract Week I in-vite all those who are still doubtful to join the organization asthere are lots of exciting things and experiences to learn herewith likeminded people.

The proposal of establishing a “World Rotaract Day”, tobe celebrated annually by all Rotaractors, was presentedto Rotary International by DRR 1989-90 of R. I. District2420, Turkey, Rtr. Derya SENSOY, on February 23,1990 by the following letter:

“Being the young generation of the “Service Above Self”philosophy, we would like a certain day to be celebratedas “World Rotaract Day” which would give us a chance forour voice to be heard with a common activity.

This day will also be an opportunity to make us approacheach other sharing the happiness of being Rotaractorsand will motivate us to create new ideas.

An activity shared by World Rotaractors will attract worldattention and will enhance recognition of Rotaract. Thisactivity should be at least at district level and it shouldhave a group activity characteristic such as blood dona-tion, public service campaigns etc. It should be kept inmind that the higher the rate of participation, the moresuccessful the activity.

On the other hand, a declaration by the President of Ro-tary International about that day emphasizing the hu-manist side of Rotaract and stating its philosophy willplay an active role in the development of the Rotaract pro-gramme.

Moreover, it is important for the recognition of Rotaract toprepare a bulletin about the activities undertaken and todistribute it to related institutions, local authorities andthe Press.

History of World Rotaract Day

Based on the foregoing facts, we are requesting RI to ac-cept the foundation day of the first Rotaract Club as theofficial “World Rotaract Day” and to celebrate it eachyear”.

This proposal was brought to the attention of all RotaractClubs as one of the "Items for Consideration" prepared bythe 1990-91 Rotary International Rotaract Committee(Group II, item 11). Following the discussions of Rotarac-tors, the proposal was put forward by the RI RotaractCommittee as a recommendation.

Then, after the Rotary Convention held in Mexico inJune 1991, the Board of Directors of RI approved thisproposal as a project to be implemented. And in 1993,due to the 25th anniversary of the Rotaract Program,“World Rotaract Day” was extended to World RotaractWeek (the second week of March).

World Rotaract Week RecognitionRecognize Rotaract clubs that celebrate the founding ofthe first club during World Rotaract Week, which occurseach year during the week of 13 March. Activities canrange from partnering with an international Rotaract clubto publicizing Rotaract in your local media.

You could say something like "I am extremely sorry sir, but the detailsof the project I was working on previously are very confidential and Iam not suppose to discuss it"

This kind of answer will not only convey the confidence you possesbut also the loyalty you have with company you are working for.

If the interviewer asks again or insists you regarding the same thenyou could answer in a diplomatic way by clearly specifying this way "Iam not suppose to share details of previous project; but I could sharethe experience/expertise gained"

You should keep note that when we are answering such questions, wehave to come as very polite and humble,

If this question is answered correctly you are definitely going to scorethe interview.

What are the best answers for "Why should Ihire you"?This is one of the frequently asked question in interviews, The bestway to answer this kinds of question is to be honest and unique.

I say this to every aspirant, Instead of just answering the question likea ritual, mean it.

These are few examples of what people normally answer for this kindof question:

These kinds of are answers can be seen normally, and youcan't stand out with these answers.

What should we answer?I will advice you something which is actually beneficial foranswering this question genuinely, Figure out what isunique about yourself, and justify it.

For example, "I suppose, for working with such great com-pany it requires to have good patience, and I am sure I willwithstand it."

Or when in case of core industries where you need goodtechnical skills, you can refer/relate your previous experi-ence with present job you are applying for.

Just make sure your answer is different from the rest.

Human Behavior: What are some cool bodylanguage tricks to use on people?There are numerous techniques for Body Language, here Iwill Emphasis on just one but major technique for rapportbuilding with anyone. Referring to answer of SoumitraMishra.

MirroringIn this technique we subtly mirror other persons body lan-guage, for example if they are sitting laid back you tooshould sit laid back, of if they are leaning in you too shouldlean in.

Rotaract Club of DakshinKa-shi conducted a project atVishwkosh. About 40 to 50students were present. Vish-wakosh authorities guidedstudents about the use ofVishwakosh. Also a ReadingCompetition was conductedand prizes were distributed tostudents.
