Project consists of the first part of L5 Bucharest Subway. Consists of two circular

section tunnels 6.075 m length each, and the implementation of all the stations. This

project has been awarded by a joint venture between ASTALDI, FCC CO, DELTA and

BD GROUP.

1.- PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS

1.1.- Geometry

The tunnel is defined due to the next characteristics:

2.- TUNNEL EXCAVATION PROCEDURE

2.1.- Excavation

The excavation of two tunnels will be carried out by EPB shield tunneling

machine suitable for working in soft ground soils due to the bulkhead pressure control

of the tunnel face. When tunnelling in unstable ground, it may be necessary to balance

the pressure inside the cutting head chamber with that of the surrounding soil to provide

a safe environment within the TBM and to minimize surface settlement above the tunnel

2.2.- SEGMENT RING DESIGNE

The tunnel line support it is made of concrete precast segment ring, assembled in

TBM due to a segment erector. Concrete ring characteristic are:

The 270 mm gap between the ring extrados and the boring diameter (6570 mm)

must be filled with grout. The theoretical volume is 2,730 m³ and the TBM is designed

to fill through the tail shield with two component grout, pumped from the grout plant,

outside of the tunnel.

2.3.- EPB excavation

The TBM requires materials and precast concrete ring for lining. All materials

are supplied to the machine by multicar system.

In this project, the muck extraction it is made through conveyor belt system.

During the assembly, excavation and disassembly process, it requires the use of

warehouses and workshops for the stock, maintenance of equipments and develop of

structures and others items to use on site

3.- EXTRUCTURAL MODIFICATION WAREHOUSE AND WORKSHOPS

The provider will supply:

1. Calculations and Project signed and approved with the design (Including

calculations for new foundations)

2. New and modified elements to assembly completely the three buildings

3. Assembly and certificates of correct assembly

4. Transport to site of knew and modified elements (Academia Militara Station

Soseaua Pandurilor and Strada progresului, Bucharest)

- Delivery time for the new elements and the assembly of buildings after finish

foundations
