Sugar Mediterranean Bistro Opens in Trinity Parkway Shopping Center
A new restaurant has opened in the Park WestPlace Shopping Center!
Sugar Mediterranean Bistro opened its doors inNovember 2018. Co-owners Juan Alonso, AlexYescas, and Roberto "Sugar" Santillan, had yearsof experience in the restaurant industry beforedeciding to open their own restaurant venture.Sugar Mediterranean Bistro is one of the only sit-down restaurants in the shopping center, offeringa lunch and dinner menu, as well as a kids menu.
Sugar Mediterranean Bistro serves Greek-inspireddishes made with fresh ingredients and hand-made pasta. Their dishes include the saganaki"flaming cheese" appetizer, crab cakes, chicken &gyro salad, moussaka, lamb chops, and manyother dishes.
Sugar Mediterranean Bistro offers daily happyhour specials, including 1/2 off appetizers, from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. to close. The space offersindoor and outdoor seating and weekly live music and entertainment. The City of Stockton Residential Neighborhood Reinvestment Program is areinvestment tool to promote neighborhood revitalization. Property owners mayapply for this program when the City has imposed fines for non-compliancewith municipal codes on residential properties. The program will allow
forgiveness of certain lien for eligible properties.
Eligibility criteria:Single-family residenceDemonstrate the cost of penalties is preventing rehabilitationPenalties exceed $15,000Provide documentation verifying financial burdenProperty must be brought into complianceImprovements will have significant positive effect on the neighborhoodImprovements must be completed within 12 monthsApplicant cannot be the one who caused, maintained, or allowed theviolations, fines, fees or liens at the subject property

The City of Stockton released a Request forProposals (RFP) for proponents to present theirqualifications and capabilities to provideDETAILED MASTER INFRASTRUCTURE PLANS,PUBLIC FACILITIES FEE NEXUS STUDY, ANDSTORMWATER CONNECTION FEE STUDY.
The purpose of this RFP is to find and select aqualified consultant to develop an integrateddocument and master plans for the developmentof municipal infrastructure, recommendations forinnovative and cost-effective upgrades andimprovements for present and future needs, andto conduct a comprehensive Development ImpactFee Study and Stormwater Connection Fee Studyfor the City of Stockton.
Proposal forms and specifications are availableon the City's website atwww.stocktonca.gov/adminbid and must bedelivered to the Office of the City Clerk, 425 NorthEl Dorado Street, Stockton, up to but not laterthan, Thursday, September 12, 2019, at 2:00p.m.

STOCKTON ARTS WEEK VENDORS AND EXHIBITORS
The City of Stockton is accepting applications forlocal vendors and exhibitors for the AnnualCollide Festival, which will be taking place onSaturday, October 19, 2019.
The Collide Festival is the finale to the weeks-long Stockton Arts Week. It is a celebration thatsparks collaboration, inspires new combinationsof cultural and artistic traditions, and brings ourcommunity together through the arts. The festivalwill include an art market of local vendors withhand-crafted goods and artists' works, and the
exhibitor's corner will provide information boothsrelated to arts organizations.
Vendor Criteria:All vendor goods must be hand-made;Artist must sell original work;All vendors must reside in San JoaquinCounty;No consultants or wholesalers; andAll selected vendors must provide displaytables and a 10' x 10' tent.
Exhibitor Criteria:Organizations must be located within SanJoaquin County;Organizations must be involved in orrepresent the arts community;Exhibitors may not sell items; andAll selected exhibitors must provide display tables and a 10' x 10' tent.
Interested parties must submit a completed application and, if selected, will receive notification toparticipate as a vendor or exhibitor at the Collide Festival. Fees for the selected vendors will be coveredby the City of Stockton. Applications will be evaluated by the City's Arts Week planning committee;selection will be based on the needs of the festival.

HIGH SCHOOL APPRENTICESHIP INITIATIVE
The Workforce Development Board of San JoaquinCounty is facilitating the development of a High SchoolApprenticeship Program Initiative working inpartnership with San Joaquin Delta College, SanJoaquin County Office of Education, and the Division ofApprenticeship Standards. Institutions of highereducation that have also been engaged in theestablished apprenticeship subcommittee workactivities include the University of the Pacific and
Humphreys University in Stockton.
This revolutionary new High School Apprenticeship program will prepare our students for the laborforce, and it has already received strong support from all stakeholders and leadership in San JoaquinCounty.
As a respected leader in the business community, the Workforce Development Board of San JoaquinCounty is soliciting your support by asking that you complete this short survey. They need your input todetermine the kind of support and interest our business community has in the development of thisHigh School Apprenticeship Program Initiative.

NEW Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) Saturday Service
beginning Sept. 7, 2019
The San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission (SJRRC) ispleased to announce the launch of the NEW AltamontCorridor Express (ACE) Saturday Service beginningSeptember 7, 2019. The ACE train is a growing commuterrail service that services passengers Monday throughFriday with service from Stockton to San Jose with stops inLathrop/Manteca, Tracy, Vasco Road, Livermore,Pleasanton, Fremont, Great America, and Santa Clara.ACE Saturday Service is an exciting addition totransportation options for Saturday commuters and leisuretravelers.
For the current ACE rider, Saturday Service offerscommuters the flexibility to work on Saturday without theneed to drive. For leisure travelers, the new serviceprovides a safe and scenic ride to their destination. ACESaturday Service will carry the same fare structure as thecurrent ACE service. For ACE Monthly Pass holders,Saturday Service will be an included day of travel at noadditional cost. The Tri-Valley Wheels Bus service willoperate on Saturdays from the Pleasanton Station toconnect passengers to the Dublin BART Station. ACEpassengers can utilize their tickets for a free transfer to VTAservices at Santa Clara and San Jose's Diridon Station.
Along its route, ACE stops at many great destinationsincluding, Downtown Livermore and Pleasanton,California's Great America, Levi's Stadium, andDowntown San Jose with attractions like the SAP Center,the Tech Interactive Museum, Children's DiscoveryMuseum, and so much more. For families traveling onSaturday's, ACE offers discounted fares for childrenincluding: children ages 0 - 5 ride free with a paying adultand children ages 6 -12 receive 50% off.
ACE Saturday Service is a one-year pilot program funded by SB1 through its State Rail AssistanceProgram (SRA). If ACE Saturday Service is proven successful, SJRRC will pursue seeking additionalfunds to maintain the service.
