About Robby Black

As Director of Festival Solutions for Vendini, Robby prides himself on his boots-on-the-ground approach and the “first-in, last-out” mentality and work ethic he brings to festival planning and execution. Having worked on the cutting edge of the RFID and access control movement, Robby is the secret weapon for improving logistical aspects and fan experience. Info & Stats «  Radio frequency identification – RFID – is a generic

term for technologies that use radio waves, typically with a microchip connected to an antennae, to automatically identify people or objects

«  Data can be captured for authentication and analysis and devices can be read-only or read-write

«  In 2014 the RFID market was $8.89 billion, up from $7.77 billion – it continues to grow

Page 31: RFID: So much more than a ticket

Technical Advantages of RFID «  Doesn’t require line of sight. RFID can be read in

range of a reader and is more durable than barcodes printed on paper, doesn’t wrinkle, no glare

«  Uses the low-end of the electromagnetic spectrum – similar to a car radio – 125 kHz or 134 kHz – very safe

Page 32: RFID: So much more than a ticket

Vendini Simplifies the Process «  Develop different

credential types for front and back of house

«  Research/Select RFID Vendors

«  Design wristbands/laminates

«  Activate wristbands/laminates

«  Determine and initiate fulfillment procedures

«  Acquire RFID compatible scanners/readers/support

«  Create RFID Box Office
