The Challenges of Wireless LANS (Enterprise Wi-Fi)Wireless connectivity is the ho est story of the decade. Today customers are connecting wirelessly, choosing the freedom aff orded by Wi-Fi over the tethers of network cabling. With that freedom, comes certain bandwidth and security issues that require professional a ention. Employee traffi c competes with constant streaming, Googling, and tweeting. Communication channels are crammed with everything from news feeds and voice; to videos. This explosion of bandwidth- hungry traffi c is straining wireless networks to their limits.

“90% of the people in the US can now connect to the Internet whenever and wherever they want wirelessly...”—FCC National Broadband Maps, December 2012

Wi-Fi continues to advance. In the past, it may have been limited to a few access points (APs) in individual agencies or departments but now wireless has become mission-critical and integral to government strategy.

Designing, deploying and supporting a high performance and “always on” wireless network requires engineering expertise. If the network doesn’t measure up, users and guests from around the state will make it known. They may even choose to deploy their own hotspot or other connectivity, running up costs in cellular data plans, causing interference, and potentially breaching security.

The Benefi ts of Wireless Done RightHow can you cost-eff ectively create a wireless environment that will off er fast, reliable, secure, and seamless Wi-Fi connectivity throughout your agency, educational institution, clinic, or other medical facility? You’ll fi nd the answer in RF-Works Wireless as a Service (WaaS). This monthly service off ers expert assessment, network design, implementation, optimization, and support of wireless to meet user demand for access anywhere, at any time, on any device.
