CHARACTER TRAITS for STUDENTS –
PATIENCE AND PERSEVERANCE
Patience is “waiting without getting upset.” ... Instead of getting frustrated
when you face a difficult situation, patience helps you respond the right
way—without getting upset or losing your temper. This makes everyone's life
better at school, at home, while driving in the car, or when dealing with
anyone.
Perseverance is the ability and self control that pushes you to work through
challenges. Having perseverance means that when you are facing a
challenge, you use your mind and body to overcome it. Perseverance means
you are able to wait and work through difficulties, whether they have to do
with your mind, your body, or your emotions.
Kids might be surprised to hear if perseverance is really important for living a
life they enjoy and can be proud of. Why? As life is full of challenges and
struggles; without perseverance, you won’t get far in life.
Patience and perseverance are common traits of the world’s most successful
people. Patience is a very high quality of man. Perseverance guarantees
victory and success while laziness and inaction causes misfortune and
results in failure.

#TEACHABLE MOMENTS FOR PARENTS
Dear Student
We have successfully concluded our first term exams. Now it’s the time to gear up for another half-yearly session. Try to
determine a clear goal for what you want to accomplish in this session. It should be borne in mind that no preparation
might yield positive results if you are demotivated . So the first thing to do is to motivate yourself for the upcoming
session. In a world of stress and immense competition, we often ask the question-‘how do we find happiness?’ As the
correct answer eludes most of us, of all the answers to this ambiguous question is one simple answer--- happiness comes
from doing what we love and loving what we do. This could also perhaps be the biggest motivating factor for you to
study to your best potential if you love what you do.
Furthermore, the coming month is full of festivals. Students, Let’s learn to attain full inner illumination in our minds
through these festivals. It elevates your faith and gives you lessons from inside. You celebrate the goodwill and teachings
you get from them.
Spark a passion in you for learning and set yourself on a journey of imbibing important traits of curiosity and creativity
lifelong.
Wish you luck….
Before learning patience with others, a child must be patient with himself/herself. Patience is learned over time, when after several attempts at something, the child has achieved success in many, incidences. Patience is learned when a child figures out that with continued effort comes success. As Dr. Levine said, “Parents are very encouraging when their child is learning to walk…if he falls down, they say, come on…try again.”
Trying again and again to achieve an appropriately challenging task requires patience. To accomplish more complex tasks over extended period of time requires perseverance.
