“Revive Us Again” February 7, 2016
Call to Worship “Your Love Never Fails” By Anthony Skinner | Chris McClarney
Verse 1: Nothing can separate, Even if I ran away, Your love never fails
I know I still make mistakes but, You have new mercies for me ev'ryday
Your love never fails
Chorus: (And) You stay the same through the ages
Your love never changes
There may be pain in the night, But joy comes in the morning
And when the oceans rage, I don't have to be afraid
Because I know that You love me, (Your love never fails)
Verse 2: The wind is strong and the water's deep
But I'm not alone here in these open seas,
Your love never fails, The chasm is far too wide
I never thought I'd reach the other side
Your love never fails Chorus
Bridge: You make all things, Work together for my good
You make all things, Work together for my good Chorus © 2008 Thankyou Music (Admin. by Capitol CMG Publishing) Used by permission CCLI #796382

Chorus: Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul. Worship His holy Name.
Sing like never before, O my soul. I’ll worship Your holy Name.
Verse 1: The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning.
It’s time to sing Your song again.
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me,
Let me be singing when the evening comes. Chorus
Verse 2: You’re rich in love, and You’re slow to anger.
Your Name is great, and Your heart is kind.
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing;
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find. Chorus
Verse 3: And on that day when my strength is failing,
The end draws near and my time has come.
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore. Chorus
I’ll worship Your holy Name. Lord, I’ll worship Your holy Name. Copyright EMI Music Services. Used by permission CCLI #796382

Title: “The Great Unexpected Rival” February 7, 2016
Scripture: Jonah 3
Speaker: Dr. Kurt Busiek
“Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: “Go to the great city of
Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.” Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord
and went to Nineveh. Now Nineveh was a very large city; it took three days to go
through it. Jonah began by going a day’s journey into the city, proclaiming, “Forty
more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.” The Ninevites believed God. A fast was
proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.”
Jonah 3:1-5

acts of service and personal discovery through self-denial.
This year Emmanuel will offer a five week discovery class
that will begin on Sundays and Wednesdays, February 14
and 17. The class will cover the basics of the Christian life including: the
ministry of Jesus, the importance of the Spirit, our Biblical foundation and the
power of prayer. Discovery classes will be offered on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. (hosted

STAR POLISHERS
The Star Polisher ministry is partnering our children/youth up with an
adult to be their prayer partner for a year. Many students have an adult
prayer partner, but there are some that need an adult to partner with
them: to pray for them, remember their birthdays, holidays and enjoy
time together. If you are interested in having or already have a child
or youth as a prayer partner, fill out the form below.
Parents: if you would like to have your child/teen participate in this ministry let us
know on the form. “Your job is to take the children/teens in – in whatever shape they
come – and shine and buff them and send them out to take their places as bright beacons
in the sky. Sometimes they are bent, tarnished, dirty, crinkly and broken. Some stars
are cuddly, soft and sweet. Some stars are prickly and thorny. As you buff, polish,
train and teach your stars, tell them that the world cannot do without them. Tell them
they can do anything they set their minds to do. Tell them they can be the brightest,
shiniest stars in the sky and the world will be a better place because of them. Each
night as you look at the sky, be reminded of your very important job and awesome
responsibility to get your soft buffing cloth and your bottle of polish in preparation for
the next day when you have the opportunity to polish your star.” (adapted from the
poem The Star Polisher by Leah Becks)

CARE PARTNER MINISTRY
The Care Partner Ministry strengthens the commitment to provide
comfort and care for our church family. The goal of the Care
Partner Ministry is to make sure everyone has regular contact with
another person in the Emmanuel Baptist family. This is an excellent
opportunity to get to know someone you may not know and to make
a difference in that person’s life. An important aspect of the Care
Partner Ministry is to equip and encourage our entire church body to
be involved in providing prayer, love and practical acts of caring for one another. Being
a Care Partner means you commit to pray for your partner and to make at least one
contact a month (card, email, text, call, visit, etc). This commitment is for one year. The
Care Partner ministry is reviewed and revised every February.
Please indicate below your current status and any changes you wish to make.
