Introducción

Megadeth e s una banda e stadounidense de t hrash metal, f ormada e n Los Ángeles, California. Fue creada en 1983 por Dave Mustaine (vocalista), después de que fuera expulsado de Metallica, donde ocupaba el puesto de guitarrista principal. Es comúnmente mencionada como una de los cuatro grandes del thrash metal, junto a Metallica, Slayer y Anthrax.

Megadeth es conocida por su distintivo estilo en las guitarras, la forma peculiar de cantar de Mustaine, la complejidad musical conformado por la gran técni-ca que contiene su música, y los temas de sus letras, a menudo recurrentes, letras apocalípticas, sobre política, guerra, y, e n varias ocasiones, relaciones sentimentales. A través de sus más de 29 años activos, Megadeth ha tenido más de 20 miem-bros o ficiales, siendo Mustaine el único m iembro p ermanente y el p rincipal compositor; por su parte, el bajista David Ellefson ha participado en la mayoría de sus discos y giras, estando ausente solo por 8 años. Super Collider

Es el décimo cuarto álbum de la banda de thrash metal Megadeth, el cual fue puesto en venta el 4 de junio de 2013. Super Collider es el primer álbum de Megadeth en ser lanzado por el propio sello de Mustaine, Tradecraft1 tras la d ivisión de la banda con Roadrunner Records. Además, Super Collider e s el p rimer álbum de Megadeth desde Cryptic Writings, lanzado en 1997, que no c uentan con u n cambio en l a formación del álbum anterior. A pesar de las críticas el álbum fue bien r ecibido comercialmente, l a primera semana se ubicó en el puesto #6 de Billboard 200. Siendo la posición más alta desde Countdown to Extinction y Youthanasia. T ambién h a alcanzado llegar a l top ten de N oruega, A rgentina (#7), Canadá y Finlandia (#4).

Singles

El 12 de Abril, la banda por medio de su página Megadeth.com da un adelanto de la canción «Don't Turn Your Back», despertando las esper-anzas de s us f anáticos. Hasta e l momento Megadeth solo ha lanzado un solo sencillo de este álbum: «Super Collider» (homónimo). Salió a la venta el 22 de abril de 2013; sin embargo se develo en e l programa de r adio estadoun-idense Full Metal Jackie d ías antes.
