Subjekt – Verb – Objekt:
I like school.

Die Zeitangabe kann am Satzanfang oder am Satzende stehen:
Every morning Mum and Dad get up early.
Mum and Dad get up early every morning.
Wenn du sagen möchtest, wie oft etwas passiert, kannst du die Häufigkeitsadverbien always, often,
sometimes, never benutzen. Sie stehen vor dem Verb:
I sometimes like school.
My brother never forgets his homework.
Mum and Dad always get up early.
In Sätzen mit be (I am, you are, he/she/it is, we/you/they are) steht das Adverb dahinter:
Students are often crazy.

Part I: Planning a fun day in Belfast
What would you do if you visited Belfast?
Normally, teachers plan the attractions for a school trip. But this time it's your
turn! You will plan one day for the whole class in Belfast!
→ You will have to write an essay about your day!
Step 1: Collect information about the capital of Northern Ireland
(1) Read the travel guide thoroughly (gründlich) and make notes in your exercise
book. → You can find the travel guide on the next page.
Also: Check www.dict.cc if you come across difficult words!
Step 2: Pick sights or attractions
(2) If you visited Belfast, where would you go? What would you do? Choose at
least (mindestens) 5 sights or attractions for the trip.
Step 3: Mark the sights on your map
(3) Print the map of Belfast or copy it roughly on a plain sheet of paper and
put the sights on your map. Mark the sights you chose for the day with a red
circle.
(4) Draw red arrows (--->) between your sights and mark the starting point
of your trip with a green triangle (Dreieck). Then mark the last attraction of the
day with an orange triangle.
Travel guide to Belfast
Crumlin Road Gaol
The Crumlin Road Gaol is a 19th century Grade A listed jail, open to the public for
tours, concert and events. Take a tour to experience all aspects of the Gaol from the
tunnel to the Governor's office, the hospital and the graveyard.

W5 is Belfast's award-winning science and discovery centre and provides unique

Titanic Quarter
Enjoy the Titanic Experience, book a

Dating back to the 1890s, this building is home to the City Council. Take a free tour,
have a “cuppa” in the Bobbin Café or relax in the beautiful grounds.
The Peace Wall(s)
The Peace Walls in Belfast were used to keep peace between Catholic and Protestant areas
of the city during the time of “The Troubles”. Today you can see a lot of murals on it, just
like the Berlin Wall.
HMS Caroline
Explore what life was like on board the restored HMS Caroline, the last surviving
ship from WorldWar1's Battle of Jutland in 1916, through modern special effects
and interactive exhibits (Austellungsstücke).
St George's Market
Incredible seafood, fresh crusty bread,
Broughgammon Farm's goat meat: whatever your tastes, St George's
Market will provide. Try some Belfast soda bread or an Ulster fry, which will fill
(sättigen) you for the day. We guarantee you won't leave empty-handed!
