Pin down the other t-layers, and continue the pattern of stitching all the layers together. SLASHING AND FINISHING THE EDGES: Use a pair of applique scissors to trim between your stitching lines, being as careful as you can to not cut or pull out any of the stitching. If you used 3 ts, cut only one layer. If you used 4 ts, you can vary whether you cut 1 or 2 layers. Again, you do not have to cut all the spaces! Once you have done all the cutting youd like, do the final stitching - 2 rows of stitching (about 1/8apart and about ½from the edges) around all the edges to hold the stitching in place. If desired, you may go back and fringearound some or all the edges, being careful not to cut any of the stitching. After washing and drying, you will get your final effect! WHEN YOU LAYER CONSIDER THESE TIPS: T shirt knit usually curls toward the outside of a t-shirt. Are there any markings on the ts that you want seen? Keep at least 2 layers of ts uncut. Not all areas of the vest need to be slashed. Courtesy of www.mygrandmatime.com You may reproduce these materials for your own non-profit use.
