God Delights in You.

Take to heart these words, my friends;

“God delights in you.”

In today’s Gospel, we hear Jesus say to His dis-

ciples; “Do not be afraid any longer, little flock,

for your Father is pleased to give you the

kingdom.”

One morning walking into the Church, I noticed

a young couple sitting in the front pew with a

little child. The child captured everyone seated

behind him and everyone in their own way

started to look at he child, wave, smile, open

wide their eyes, and get the child to know a

simple truth, that everyone in that little chapel

delighted in the child’s presence.

This, my friends, is how God delights in us –

like little children who have simply captured

His heart, the Lord delights in you. Even when

we sin or lost our way, God still looks tenderly

at us, and delights in our presence. Therefore,

“Do not be afraid any longer, for your Father is

pleased to give you the kingdom.”

God Love you,

Fr. Fleming

Dios se regocija en ti.

Tomen en serio estas palabras, mis amigos;

pecamos o perdemos nuestro camino, Dios

Padre Fleming

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

August 15-Holy Day of Obligation Mass Times: St. Mary 8:00am

SSJJ: 7:00pm-Bilingual Mass

Join us for Family Prayer Night on the

Feast of the Assumption at SSJJ

On August 15th, at 6:30pm, prior to mass,

the Knights of Columbus will be

sponsoring its first Family Prayer Night.

Family Prayer Night is an excellent

opportunity for families to come together

for prayer, food and fellowship. We will

start before mass with a bilingual rosary,

and offering of roses to Our Lady of the

Assumption. After mass we will assemble outside the front of

the church for a children’s crowning of Our Lady’s statue and

a song. We will then assemble downstairs for some fellowship,

food, and refreshment. An event for family, young or old!

Look for a Family Prayer Night brochure in your church for

more information.
