FROM THE GOVERNOR’S DESK
Hello Everyone, What a wonderful month January was with all the planned events at our lodge including the New Year’s Eve party and the delicious homemade menudo prepared by David and Gloria Lopez; and the Council of Higher Degrees banquet. I hope you are having as much fun as we are participating
in these functions. If you haven’t had a chance to experience the Moose fun come on down this month for more excitement. Please see your Moose newsletter calendar for details. We have a whole venue of things planned week to week so you don’t want to miss out. Thank you to all those that make these things happen.
Nominations for the WOTM officers for next year will take place in February and for the LOOM officers in March for 2015-2016. If you are interested in any of the positions, please see a board member and on down and get more involved.
Past sweethearts of Oxnard Lodge please RSVP for the Sweetheart Dinner on Friday February 6th and come out & join us in welcoming the new sweetheart. The District Queen of Hearts Dance to honor this year’s district sweethearts will be held on Saturday February 7th at the Santa Barbara Lodge. Please RSVP with a board member.
Remember we cook breakfast every Sunday, monthly opportunity drawings, planned events and more.
Thank you all again for your love and support!
Your Governor, Bobby Valles

Thank you to Deborah Jones our pro-tem Educational Advancement chairman for hosting the activity night held on Thursday January 8th.
Congratulations to Frankii Lopez, our new Educational Advancement chairman. Frankii has always helped out the chapter and the lodge behind the scenes and it is our pleasure to have her as our new chairman.
Congratulations to Diane Gonzales and to Mickey Allen on receiving their call cards for higher degrees.
Congratulations to Sharon Miller, Deborah Jones, Lorraine Diaz, Cecilia Calderon, Janet Perez, Theresa Guerrero, Cindy Herrera and Liz Ulloa who received their call cards for the Academy of Friendship (AF) degree. Reno here they come!
Many thanks to everyone who donated delicious cakes, pies, brownies and other goodies to our Women of the Moose (WOTM) cake walk. All the proceeds will assist with the expenses for the ladies going to Reno to receive their AF degree.
Don’t forget to buy your tickets for the monthly opportunity drawing for a chance to win. Please see any of the WOTM board of officers for tickets. Winner must be a member in good standing and present at the drawings that will be held on the last Friday of each month, the last one ending in April. The proceeds will go toward the ladies who will be going to Reno to receive the AF degree. Please join us at the WOTM meetings and activities (please see newsletter for dates) to share and learn more.
Love our Moose family, Senior Regent Gina Valles

This is the first in a series of periodic articles to keep the membership in-formed on the changes in lodge policies and other matters of interest. For example:1) Hall rental discounts will be based on the length of continuous membership as follows: 6 -12 months = 10% discount; members from other lodges = 10% discount; 13 months = 20% discount; and life members = 30% All other provisions of the hall rental agreement remain. The House Committee will continue to review further adjustments in order to remain competitive with other rentals in the area.2) Television Event(s) Expenditures: No person(s) shall be authorized to purchase/procure any televised event for viewing at the lodge without the permission of the Lodge House Committee.
