Welcome, to our Annual Sew Easy Embroidery Retreat 2010 starting 11 July thru 15 July at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino in Reno. This Retreat is a Consumer Development Show, open to quilters, sewers, embroiderers and crafters. The program features a talented group of educators and software designers who are well known in the sewing industry. They will share techniques and personal teaching methods. Projects are designed to help participants to use their machines to the fullest. The cost of the retreat includes teaching fees, class kits, embroidery designs, lunches and 2 dinner parties. (Welcome Cocktail, Daily lunch and Dinner Party) . Ray’s gives away over $5,000.00 in prizes at the Retreat. Class registration can be made over the phone, by mail or in person. If you have any food restrictions or allergies, please indicate them on the registration form or call so we can make arrangements ahead of time for appropriate meals for you. You must own a Janome Embroidery machine. If you do not have a machine yet, be sure to stop by the store for a demonstration on a new or used embroidery machine. Each machine comes with unlimited in- store machine instruction. Please contact Ray’s for additional information on this year event at Harrah Hotel and Casino in Reno, Nevada. - Margaret Moorhead is the first Internationally-Accredited Jenny Haskins Tutor, being personally invited to make the trip around the world to Australia, in order to receive private, one-on-one training from the world-renowned Jenny Haskins. Margaret is regularly featured in Jenny's magazine, Creative Expressions, and her beautiful work is being showcased in other illustrious magazines as well as on television.

You will encounter a magical experience when you take a class with Margaret. She cares deeply about her students and clients, and she is passionate about her work. Her skills and talents are among the best in the industry, and she continuously receives exceptional reviews from her students. With experience teaching all over the United States, as well as her background in education, Margaret employs imaginative teaching techniques that are unique in her industry. She makes difficult techniques simple by breaking down the process. By doing this, you will be able to understand every step perfectly, and replicate it later on your own. - Cindy Losekamp is a fun and enlightening teacher known for her incredible amount of samples and ingenious way of creating. She has written numerous books and patterns and created many beautiful embroidery design CD's. Cindy has been creating her entire life. She started learning at her Grandmother’s knee and then continued at singer sewing classes and in 4-H.

- Mary Jo Gabel has developed and successfully taught serger sewing classes for the past twenty-one years. In her hands on classes, she has worked with all makes and models of sergers. She has put together a series of serger instructional DVDs to share her knowledge with home sewers everywhere. Her step-by-step instructions can be followed by the novice sewer and/or the accomplished seamstress. Great close ups in all of her DVDs make for private lessons in your own home!

Cindy also is known for her ultra creative ideas and methods for using embroidery machines and the decorative stitches that most people never use. Cindy has been a guest on many of the popular TV shows and she has traveled extensively. Her love of sewing, crocheting, embroidering and painting is the driving force behind her company, Sew Artfully Yours.You will enjoy learning from this exciting and empowering sewing personality

She holds a B.S. Degree in Home Economics from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. For the past thirty years, she has taught all aspects and levels of sewing: community college, adult education, College for Kids and 4-H programs.

- Gay Gerlack is the owner of Sewabration. She has a line of patterns and booklets, and is available to teach at educational seminars. She is a member of the American Sewing Guild and the Sewing Educators Alliance. Gay has taught for the Original Creative Festivals, International Quilt Festival, the Sewing and Stitchery Expo, the International Embroidery Conference, the Creative Embroidery Conference, the Machine Enthusiasts Embroidery Conference, the Janome Sew Easy Retreat, the Sparkle Cruise, the Sew, Quilt and Embroidery Festivals, the Valley Stitcher’s Guild, and at a variety of sewing centers.

- Bobbi Bullard has been sewing for 40 + years and a computer user for 28 years. She a contributing editor for Machine Embroidery Journal and Designs in Machine Embroidery and has written for Creative Machine Newsletter, Fitting Tips, Threads and Total Embellishment Newsletter. She teaches classes on unique methods for individualizing garments with a variety of embellishment techniques and new ways of using machine embroidery around the country.

Gay’s designs have been featured in Threads Magazine, Sew Stylish Magazine, Designs in Machine Embroidery, and The Embroidery Journal. She has also written articles for Pattern Review. The classes and projects are part of a simplified sewing series designed to make sewing fast, fun and creative….a Sewabration!

- Valora Hammond is an educator for Janome America. Her love of sewing began as a child and along the way, she’s worked in a fabric store and made costumes for state shows. She has been doing custom sewing since she was in high school, expanding to creating garments for contests, stage and special occasions. She graduated from Colorado State University with a major in secondary teaching and a minor in apparel production. She loves to teach Janome customers all the things their machines can do for them.

- Jacki McNeal has been sewing for 16 years. She loves quilting, home decorator projects, wearable art and sewing for her grandchildren. She is active with the American Sewing Guild, Placerville Gold Country Chapter. Jacki’s goal for her students is that they leave each class with a sense of joy knowing that they have successfully completed their projects.

- Lisa Shaw is the technical support manager for Buzz Tools. She can be found at many embroidery shows and class rooms. Lisa has been with Buzz Tools from the early days and is also deeply involved in the development of all new programs and features as she really knows what the embroidery community needs and wants.
