Introduction
The National Association for Retarded Children annually receives
numerous requests for information regarding residential camps for
the mentally retarded. In response to these requests we have
prepared a comprehensive listing of residential camps for the
mentally retarded throughout the United States.
The camps listed herein were identified through a questionnaire
sent to State and local associations. Descriptive information
about each camp was provided by State and local units. In no
way does NARC wish to imply sponsorship of these camps.
Camps have been listed alphabetically according to their geographic
location within each State. The following abbreviations have been
used throughout this Directory to identify the types of children
served.
