• Who’s going to be reading your resume?
–Develop a job target
– Consider the type of organization you want to work for
–Decide what type of information, and in what format, is most appropriate for your target audience

• Resume–Chronological–Functional–Combination
• CV
Chronological Resume
• Most common resume type
• Educational and employment history organized by date
• Works well for students who have progressive and related experiences within their field
• Emphasizes work history
• Easy for employers to scan
Functional Resume
• Focus on skills and experience rather than chronological work history
• Demonstrates how you ideally match the requirements of a jobs
• Can be confusing for employers to follow
• Good for people with gaps in work history or those looking to transition into new career
Combination Resume
• Merge chronological and functional style resumes
• Highlights your skills and experiences
• Can appear repetitive; accomplishments and credentials mentioned in both the skills summary and work-experience sections
