Between Identities• I was born on June 10, 1985 in Kirchen,
Germany. My mother is German and my father is Turkish. In 2006, I moved to Wisconsin, USA for college.
• That’s why I like to say I live between three different cultures, which I believe has made me a critical thinker and a global citizen.

Journalism
• I have loved to read and write since grade school, and decided I wanted to be a journalist in 8th grade.
• Over the years, I have learned more and more about the field and why I am so fascinated by it

• I am interested in covering cultural topics and have written about the 2008 presidential campaign, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and university administration.

• After graduating from college, I spent six months as an Associate Editor at SparkNET Interactive, an internet article distributor, where I learned a lot about internet marketing
• My time there gave me the idea to build my own digital strategy business, Yeni Media, which I did in January of 2010.

- Service Trip to San Francisco, CA for HIV/AIDS relief (March 2008)
- Service Trip to New York City for HIV/AIDS and homelessness relief (Jan 2009)
- Regular volunteer work at Despensa Emergencia, an urban Milwaukee food pantry (since August 2010)
I lead a service trip to NYC in January of 2009. We focused on HIV/AIDS and homelessness relief.
Goals• Cherish and deepen my spirituality
• Finish my documentary about being Turkish in Germany by May of 2012 and use it to fund raise for a homework facility for Turkish students in my hometown of Hilden, Germany
• Become fluent in Turkish by the time I’m 30
• Have a family and raise kids
• Enjoy a dynamic work environment that uses my writing skills and passion for internet communication
• Run more half-marathons, maybe a full one some day
