PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Engineering Consultant: Capital Projects, 2015-2016 EXXONMOBIL JOLIET REFINERY, Channahon, Illinois

Represented Siemens Energy as their sole onsite customer-facing consultant co-located within the capital project engineering department

of the ExxonMobil Refinery in Joliet, Illinois throughout 2015:

Personally managed a portfolio of process safety audit projects with a total budget of over $150,000 per year.

Provided high quality refinery process designs and simulations to support new capital expansions.

Participated in pre-startup safety review and HAZOP meetings during normal operation and turnaround.

Updated process safety information databases as a critical step in the Management of Change (MOC) process.

Communicated process safety review audit findings to technical and non-technical clientele.

Process Safety Engineer, 2013 to 2016 SIEMENS ENERGY INC., Media, Pennsylvania

Siemens Energy provides Process Safety Management related engineering services to refinery clients. Primary responsibilities included:

Used heat & material balances, process simulation software, and heuristics to create and validate refinery unit and piping designs.

Created proposals, contracts, and invoices for clients requesting refinery process safety audits.

Lead weekly meetings with coworkers and clients to present audit findings and project progress reports.

Tracked and scheduled projects using Microsoft Project in order to meet rigorous milestones for client deliverables.

Examples of individual accomplishments:

Used real-time DYNSIM simulation software to prove that the existing process controller (HIPS) based safety system on the Crude

processing unit was adequate to protect the system from dangerous overpressure, and had potential to handle a 10% step-up in the

refinery crude oil feed rate without a costly redesign. This study allowed the refinery to reserve a larger share of pipeline crude oil,

boosting potential revenue and production without further capital investment.

Traveled to southern Montana to lead a team in the audit of the pressure safety system for the chemical storage facilities of a major

refinery. After completion of this pilot project, the client was satisfied and purchased a new $60k+ contract for analysis of additional

sections of the plant.

Accounting Clerk, 2009 to 2011 DELAWARE RIVER PORT AUTHORITY (DRPA), Lindenwold, New Jersey

Compiled company-wide year end operating and capital expenditure budgets, and used each to create the operating budget projections

for the following fiscal years. Created the internal budget presentation PowerPoints, which were presented to and later approved by

the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) Board of Commissioners.
