BD Kiestra develops, manufactures and maintains High Tech equipment for the automation of work processes of microbiologic laboratories. Ive fulfilled the role of Site Leader since the acquisition of the family owned company Kiestra Lab Automation by BD, reporting to the Executive Management Committee of BD Diagnostic Systems in Baltimore. As Site Leader I led the Site Management Team with participation of R&D, Operations, Services and Staff; I had overall P&L responsibility for the Plant; I did negotiations with the Workscouncil. 02/2007–12/2011 Norma Groep, Hengelo / Drachten, Managing Director – co owner The Norma Group (www.norma-groep.nl) is a high tech system supplier to international OEM customers in the field of Semiconductor, Medical Device Industry, Defense, Consumer, Aerospace and Optics. Norma employs about 420 people in 4 different subsidiaries.

I joined Norma as co-owner at the divestment / acquisition of the internal Philips business unit IMS to Norma. As Managing Director I have led different subsidiaries within Norma, with integral P&L responsibility for these subsidiaries. Within the Norma BoM I was responsible for the overall business planning and strategic development of the company.

Achieved results: successful integration of a Philips business unit within a family owned SME company; substantial growth (80-420 FTE in 3 years’ time); the change from parts/module supplier to a High Tech systems integrator.

Realized projects and change processes: structural improvement of the Operational performance and Financial results (Lean Management, ERP, Quality Management Systems ISO9001 and ISO14001); the development of the customer base (Semicon, Medical, Germany, US); culture change form an internal Philips unit to an entrepreneurial SME company; improvement of innovative performance and competitiveness.

01/2002–02/2007 Philips CL, Drachten, Manager IMS Philips CL Drachten develops and manufactures shavers (Norelco). The internal Business Unit Innovation, Means and Service (IMS) was responsible for the development, engineering and assembly of equipment and ultra precise tooling for the Philips/Norelco shaver manufacturing, and the development of prototype systems. Number of FTE: 220.

As Manager IMS I had integral P&L responsibility for the business unit, reporting to CEO Philips Drachten. Member of the Executive Management Team of Philips Consumer Lifestyle..

Achieved results: structural improvement of the Operational performance and customer satisfaction (On Time Delivery from 60% - 90%, throughput time reduction with 30%); implementation of innovative techniques and equipment; implementation of Management Systems (ERP, ISO9001, EFQM).

In the period from October 2005 till March 2007 I led IMS through a substantial change process resulting in the successful divestment and sell to Norma and Irmato. This big reorganization had a number of aspects, like influencing Stakeholders (central Phillips Management Committee, personnel, Works Council, Social Partners, customers, buyers); management of the entire project and trajectory, bid book and data room; integration of compensation packages with the buyers, mobility program for the employees.

08/1988–01/2002 Urenco Netherlands B.V. (currently ET-NL), Almelo, different jobs Core activity of Urenco Netherlands is the enrichment of uranium with ultracentrifuges. Within the business unit Manufacturing Division (ET-NL) these

ultracentrifuges are developed and manufactured. Besides ultracentrifuges the business unit produced aerospace systems.

In the 14 years’ period within Urenco NL, I fulfilled several jobs: from Manufacturing Engineer to Manager Operations. As Manager Operations I was overall responsible for the manufacturing of ultracentrifuges and aerospace systems.

Achieved results: substantial growth (from 2000 – 14000 ultracentrifuges per year in 4 year); change of organizational orientation from functional to process driven organization; implementation of self controlling teams; the development and implementation of innovative processes and competences as employees.
